By carrying out the teaching experiment of applying STEAM education concept in the teaching of material science in xiangke Primary School,this paper explores the influence of applying STEAM education model in this field on students' learning effect.The Compulsory Education Primary School Science Curriculum Standard(2017 Edition)clearly points out that primary school science is divided into four fields: "material science","life science","Earth and Space science",and "technology and engineering".Material science is an important part of science curriculum learning,and good and appropriate teaching methods are indispensable for effective teaching in this field.In recent years,STEAM education concept has been applied to the teaching of some subjects with its comprehensive characteristics,in order to cultivate talents with comprehensive quality.The integration of STEAM education concept with primary science and material science can,to some extent,promote students' learning and the efficient teaching of primary science and material science.Literature research,experimental research,questionnaire survey and interview were used to fully carry out this experimental study.Through the literature research method,the existing literature is searched and analyzed,and the application research of STEAM education concept in primary school science curriculum teaching is summarized.The teaching experiment was carried out on the fifth grade students of J Primary School in M City by using experimental research method.STEAM education concept was adopted in the experimental class,while traditional teaching method was continued in the control class.Tests before and after the experiment were carried out and irrelevant variables were controlled.It is concluded that the application of STEAM education concept in the teaching of primary school science and material science has an impact on students' scientific achievement.Using the questionnaire survey method and interview method to investigate the experimental classes,and analysis the results of the survey,it is concluded that application in the field of material science in elementary school science STEAM education concept of students' learning interest and participation,practical ability and team cooperation ability,and put forward the "optimizing teaching links,improve the classroom efficiency","pay attention to teacher evaluation,There are five teaching suggestions,including stimulating interest in learning,giving full play to students' dominant position with appropriate guidance from teachers,paying attention to the interrelation of multiple factors and jointly improving learning effect,and actively learning STEAM education concept and making preparations before class.The application of STEAM education concept can not only promote the high-quality and efficient development of primary school science classes,but also promote the comprehensive development of primary school students.
