The General High School Chemistry Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition Revised 2020)(hereafter referred to as "the new standards ")emphasize that schools should make full use of favorable resources to offer a diverse chemistry curriculum to meet the diverse needs of future development.As an important part of course reform,the development of elective courses,school-based course and teaching materials is receiving increasing attention.As a treasure of natural science,the history of chemistry has important educational significance.It combines the history of human exploration of substances and changes,dynamically records the development of chemistry,and traces the origin of chemical "kno wledge " thro ugh the history of chemistry.Wisdom is combined to master the basic principles and methods of chemistry learning,so as to learn for history and use history for the present.Therefore,developing a school-based textbook on the history of chemistry to accompany the textbook and applying it to an elective course is an objective need for the development of secondary school chemistry education.In this study,through a literature review of the "school-based textbook" "History of Chemistry",and from the practice of schools and students,We analyzed the current problems in teaching the history of chemistry in high school,combined it with the history of chemistry in the PEP textbook,refined and enriched it,and de veloped a school-based textbook of the history of chemistry that can be used for teaching elective courses.The specific contents of the study include: Firstly,an over view of the current status of research on the history of chemistry and school-based teaching materials at home and abroad,and a generalization of relevant theories and concepts.Secondly,investigating the teaching of the Hanyu(2019)version of the textbook and the history of chemistry in the internship school,and establishing the direction of the theme and design implementation of the school-based textbook development.Thirdly,design school-based materials based on the process of developing history of chemistry school-based materials.Fourthly,practicing school-based materials in elective courses,synthesizing students',teachers' and experts' opinions for qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis with students' performance to derive the quality and effectiveness of school-based materials development.Finally,it is a reflection to summarize the problems encountered in the development and implementation of school-based history of chemistry materials and to propose directions for follow-up research.The final results of the study show that the school-based materials developed and designed for the history of chemistry,which are used in the elective courses,have certain value and significance,and provide a reference for front-line chemistry teachers' teaching to learn,use and teach history.The study concluded with recommendations for the use of the school-based history of chemistry textbook: the history of chemistry in the school-based textbook can be integrated into the teaching of the subject;the textbook can be used in an elective course at regular times;and it can be used as a reading material for students.The results of the empirical study also show that the nurturing function of teaching history of chemistry is positive,and the application of a reasonable teaching model can effectively promote teaching and learning;school-based teaching materials enrich the teaching material system;enhance students' humanistic and scientific literacy;Improving teachers' professional competence in teaching and develop students' core literacy in chemistry.
