The construction of first-class disciplines is the mission of high-level industry-specific universities under the development of higher education in the new era.With the continuous adjustment of the national strategy and the layout of higher education,the competition in the discipline construction of high-level industry-specific universities is becoming increasingly fierce.In the context of "double first-class" construction,disciplinary construction is taken as the core of the entire process,and it is necessary to take the cultivation of disciplinary competitiveness as an effective measure.By conducting research on the formation process of disciplinary competitiveness,the path of cultivating disciplinary competitiveness should be identified.The construction of high-level industry-specific universities is inseparable from the support of related industry resources.Its rich scientific research results and talent output will provide a large number of backup resources for the strategic development of the industry.However,in the course of development,subject construction of high-level industry-specific universities is affected by various factors,which requires orderly planning and transformation and development.Under the guidance of the overall national strategy,building a world-class university has become the main development goal.In order to serve the major needs of the country and regional economic and social development,it is of great significance to study the formation and cultivation of disciplinary competitiveness of high-level industry-specific universities.The paper focuses on clarifying the main components of disciplinary competitiveness of high-level industry-specific universities.Based on the theoretical basis of competitive advantage,a three-dimensional model of “resource-environmentcapacity” is formed.The three dimensions as a whole show the characteristics of external hierarchical structure,synergy of connotation,and mutual reversibility of elements.The cases in the paper mainly research the formation and development process of the discipline competitiveness of China University of Mining and Technology,and verify the rationality of the discipline competitiveness model.Through quantitative analysis of the faculty size,faculty structure,funding income,and scientific and technological output of 20 high-level industry-specific universities,a comparative study is conducted to refine and summarize the current high-level industry-characteristic universities' subject competitiveness.However,the humanities and social sciences need to be strengthened;the layout of the disciplines is different,and high-level industry-specific universities are urgently transformed;the scale of faculty is expanded,and the structure of the discipline team needs to be optimized;the research results are outstanding,and the disciplinary attributes are significantly different;There are problems such as differences in the location of cities in the industry.Finally,according to the analysis results of the status quo,from the aspects of resources,environment,and ability,the author proposes targeted development measures for the cultivation of disciplinary competitiveness of high-level industry-specific universities.High-level industry characteristic universities can build a trinity construction strategy through talent supply to strengthen faculty,clear target positioning,improve innovation,strengthen top-level design and optimize layout,foster and enhance the competitiveness of disciplines,and promote the orderly expansion of discipline structure.There are 23 figures,14tables,70 reference in the thesis.
