Group Work Is Intervened On The Improvement Of The Autonomous Living Ability Of Adults With Mild Mental Retardation

According to the 2012 survey by the China Association of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities and Their Relatives and Friends,there are5.54 million people with intellectual disabilities in China,and 4.3 million people with intellectual disabilities among multiple disabilities,the total number is close to 10 million.As a vulnerable group in society,people with mild mental disabilities have their own physical defects,which make them different from ordinary people in language and action,unable to participate in normal social life,they need the help and support from the whole society.Based on adult mildly mental disabilities as the research object,using the execution of work team to provide the capacity for independent living services.It is hoped that adults with mild mental disabilities can give full play to their subjective initiative,explore their own advantages,and enhance their autonomy,control their own life,and participate in social life on an equal and free basis through increasing their own power and support from external resources.In this study,11 adults with mild mental disabilities in Changsha M Service Center for Persons with Disabilities were selected as the research objects.Through data access and participatory observation,it was found that the subjects had three aspects of obstacles in home life,community life and employment life.Based on the theory of empowerment and social support,the study was conducted.Use group working methods for adult mildly mental disabilities in the life that occupy the home,community life and employment,training,improve the capacity of life through participatory observation,semi-structured interview and questionnaire analysis to evaluate the intervention effect,social work in adult ascension is verified mild mental disabilities independent life ability aspect has significant effects.The summary part describes the practical results,that is,the independent living ability of adults with mild mental disabilities,the parenting style of the parents of the mentally disabled,and the training method of the independent living ability of the nursing institutions have been significantly improved.It also reflects on the lack of practical experience of researchers,the imperfect evaluation system for the mentally handicapped,the lack of continuity of group activity results,and the lack of individual intervention in practical process,and puts forward five suggestions: firstly,to improve the special education knowledge and practical training of social workers;secondly,to establish scientific evaluation system for different mental disabilities,thirdly,to strengthen cooperation with the parents of the mental disorder,fourthly,to improve the professional social work for the disabled and sustainability,fifthly,to integrate social resources to provide "adaptive" support.The author hopes that this study can provide some reference and experience for group work to improve the independent living ability of adults with mild mental disabilities.
