It is expected that it will enter a deeply aging society in 2022 because the trend of population aging in our country has intensified in recent years.Families with only one child lack alternative support for the elderly in particular.Compared with non-only children, only children need to bear heavier family care responsibilities.Meanwhile, given the unique growth environment, only children have stronger dependence on the original family. These are all considerations for children's choice of employment location, which affects interprovincial population flow and hinders overall development. This article takes the place of employment of the only child as a starting point to explore whether the only child is more inclined to return to the province for employment after entering an employment position, which has very important practical significance. This paper uses the China Household Income Project Survey(CHIP)2013 database, uses STATA software to match parent and child information, and uses log-binomial model to perform regression analysis to explore the relationship between only-children and employment in the province. The empirical results show that the probability of only child returning to work in the province is about 1.09 times that of non only child choosing to return to work in the province.Further replacing the model with a logistic model and replacing the core explanatory variable with the number of siblings for robustness testing, the results are still significant.Heterogeneity analysis shows that compared with non-only children, only children in the 26-35 age group are more likely to return to work in the province than only children 25 and under. There is no significant difference in the choice of employment between the only child over 35 years old and the non-only child.
