| With the rapid development of science and technology and changes in cognitive concepts,preschool education is highly valued by all sectors of society,and parents are increasingly concerned about the overall physical and mental development of children,especially in the purchase of toys pay more attention to the educational function of toys.The process of children’s growth requires exposure to and understanding of multiple knowledge systems for cognitive construction,and high-quality educational content helps to enhance children’s thinking development and comprehensive literacy skills.In order to combine the learning of scientific and educational knowledge with toy design,and to help preschool children explore and learn in the process of play,this paper conducts a relevant design study.This paper mainly focuses on preschool children(3-6 years old),using literature research,user observation method,associated user interviews,interdisciplinary research method and competitive product analysis.Firstly,we analyze the physiological,psychological and behavioral characteristics of preschool children,propose design contacts according to each behavioral development characteristic,and summarize the value and significance of science education for preschool children.Secondly,we investigate the learning characteristics and ways of preschool children based on theories related to children’s educational psychology,discuss the development of preschool education and educational practice cases,and analyze and explore the basic contents and goals of preschool science education.Through the study of preschool children’s science toys and case studies,we summarize the problems of current science toys and propose corresponding design contacts from the perspective of user needs.Finally,this paper proposes four design principles for preschool children’s science toys from four levels: content focuses on educational connotation,play focuses on simple and interesting,experience focuses on multiple interactions,and products pay attention to harmlessness.Under the guidance of the design principles,the design methods of science toys are proposed: expanding the game connotation and learning methods,increasing functional play and game fun,enhancing sensory experience and sensory memory,and improving product quality and technical performance.Under the guidance of the theoretical research,the toy design practice for preschool children’s science education is carried out,and the science toys for preschool children are designed to meet their physical and mental health development.Through this paper,we provide new development ideas for the design research of preschool children’s science toys. |
