Educational toy is an essential part of the preschool education, which is necessary to enrich preschool education programmes. Currently, this type of toy is spotty in the toy domestic market. With so many educational toys, how to select for parents and kindergarten,and solve the existing problem in design, and improve the product quality have become the prominent problem.Preschool children's toys with educational function are studied in this thesis. The effect of preschool children's toys with educational function on children is emphatically discussed,and the principles and methods are followed in the design of such toys. The existent research achievements show that children's toys with educational function play an irreplaceable role in children's healthy growth. Preschool educational model uses toys with educational function as a carrier of knowledge. By playing such toys, preschool children received the early education. Based on children's physiologic, psychological and age feature,the required toys with educational function should be designed rationally.Various research methods are adopted in this thesis, such as literature, case analysis,analogy and speciality practice, which provided a reliable guarantee for developing this objects. Also, the theoretical basis, design method and design idea can be obtained for the development of preschool children's toys with educational function.This thesis is organized as follows: In Chapter 1, the background, research status, goal and significance of the topic selection are introduced, and the essential preparative is order to the next research; In Chapter 2, the definition of toy and training aid are given, and the functional position of children's toys and training aids are summarized, and the difference and relation between them are also described. Chapter 3 analyzed the development direction of preschool children's toys with educational function based on children's physiologic,psychological, cognitive and behavioral feature, and the promotion effect of such toys on the ability cultivation are refined, such as perception, observation, creativity, language and locomotivity, which provides the strategy decision for the design of such toys. In Chapter 4,the method for designing preschool children's toys with educational function is discussed,and the design elements including safety, education, enjoyment and puzzle are stressed. Then,several salable preschool children's toys with educational function are introduced, and the disadvantages of common toys are overcome. Further on a practical project are developed for illustrating the above ideas and methods. Finally, the main results are get and further studies are pointed out.
