| The rapid development of industrialization in China since the 21 st century has brought good economic and material conditions to the people, but the lifestyle of the people has also changed, and the disease spectrum of the people has been changing and becoming more complex in recent years, which has gradually increased the health burden of the people and the pressure on the emergency department. At the same time, the frequent occurrence of mass public health emergencies and large-scale natural disasters in China, such as the outbreak of SARS in 2003,the massive earthquake in Wenchuan in 2008,and the massive outbreak of the COVID-19 in early 2020,have added more pressure to the emergency department, which was already under pressure. From the perspective of national policy norms, the content of current norms and guidelines for emergency departments in China is still slightly simple, and guidelines on the construction and management of three major centers for stroke, chest pain, and trauma in hospitals were released successively from 2016-2018,which means that a new medical service system and medical process flow have been added to the original hierarchical diagnosis and treatment model of emergency departments. From the current status of academic research on emergency departments by domestic scholars, some of the research does not fully match the current needs. Moreover, among the results of architectural design research of emergency departments in China, there are relatively few design studies based on modularity, and the current research on modularity is mostly aimed at assembled buildings, but ignores the modular design of the building scheme itself, while the idea of modular design and its own characteristics are in fact very suitable for solving the design problems of such a huge system of medical buildings. In order to study the architectural design of emergency department of general hospital based on modularization,we analyze the design status of emergency department of general hospital in China from the medical process flow, internal functional space composition, traffic flow and connection between emergency department and other medical departments, taking emergency department of tertiary general hospital in China as the object.Through sorting out the principles and characteristics of modular design, the advantages and limitations of combining modular design with medical architecture, the modular design idea of emergency department of general hospital is clarified.Inspired by the "industrialization classification strategy","behavior space classification strategy" and "functional block division strategy",the modularization classification method of emergency department of general hospital is derived, and the modularization system of emergency department is established. And the standardization of the modular units of the emergency department was studied, and the corresponding combination strategies among the modules were explored for the different spatial organization forms of the emergency department.Taking the actual project of the emergency department of Pingliang People ’s Hospital as an example. The modular design of its internal space is analyzed, and the resulting modular design principles and strategies of the emergency department are brought into actual projects for comparison and validation to verify the rationality of the research results and the way and value of their practical application. After verification,it is found that the research results of this paper on modular design of emergency department are consistent with the actual project application rules and medical process flow of emergency department, and can be used as a theoretical basis to assist in correcting the design defects in completed projects and provide corresponding transformation direction for them, and also provide ready-made design basis for subsequent designers, reduce the possibility of design errors and improve the rationality and accuracy of design for some units or institutions that lack experience in medical architectural design. |
