With the rise in demand and the development of emergency medical service system, integrated treatment mode was started to increase in large general hospital emergency departments. However, the lack of emergency building partitions, circuitous flow lines, noisy situation, undoubtedly hampered the development of emergency medical care. Therefore, in order to adapt to the efficient operation of the prehospital admissions, hospital treatment, care and rehabilitation for the integration model, the article topic on optimal design of large general hospital emergency department study.Integrated treatment model proposed by medical profession was the research`s background. This paper first reviewed the relevant research from architecture and medicine, while summarized the domestic and foreign aid system characteristics. On the basis of analysis the operation mode of general hospital emergency department, as well as the origin, development and constraint of integrated treatment mode, then it advanced four design factors from the allocation of medical resources, medical facilities, traffic lines, psychology behavioral.Followed conducted field research based on theoretical research. Through data collection and analysis of the profile of the prehospital care resources distribution in Chongqing, the author researched 18 large general hospital emergency departments nationwide, also summed up its layout in site area, functional space, internal flow lines and medical environment construction status. Meanwhile, observed rescue patients and their families, health care workers, in order to analyze and summarize the integrated treatment model for the space need in emergency buildings. Finally, combining these research content appropriate policy are proposed, and focus on optimize the design of emergency building research. 1)In the proposed General Plan Optimization: Determined the radius of Chongqing emergency services, in order to achieve rational allocation of health care resources; rational organized the emergency lane, the hospital entrance area, building entrances; enhanced accessibility and connectivity between buildings, to achieve functional coordination. 2) On the proposed plane optimize content: treatment area division should follow the emergency, times of emergency, general zoning arrangement; organize guided abortion services in order to achieve rational distribution of public space; analysised departments scale, layout, in order to optimize it. 3)In the optimization of flow lines proposed: establish short, separated aid flow lines, in order to achieve patency; set the horizontal, vertical, three-dimensional corridors to increase convergence;separated pollution-cleanings、doctor-patient flow lines, in order to achieve independence. 4) In the optimization of environment: provided light and ventilation, waiting area environment and added treatment information to improve it;improved basic services and labeling systems to improve efficiency; set the appropriate colors and textures, in order to optimize the quality of space.
