Research On The Design Of Outdoor Public Space In Universities Based On PSP

With the rapid development of my country’s education,colleges and universities have undergone large-scale expansion after enrollment expansion,which has set off a "infrastructure craze" for colleges and universities.The traditional campus public space can no longer meet the needs of school students for the "quantity" of space,let alone the demand for the "quality" of space.As an important part of the public space of colleges and universities,the outdoor public space of colleges and universities is an important space for students to experience the campus environment and form campus memories.As an important carrier of students’ school life,it has great educational significance.Therefore,improving the quality of outdoor public spaces in colleges and universities,optimizing space issues,and meeting the new needs of students have important practical significance.This article applies the PSPL survey method to the design and research of outdoor public spaces in colleges and universities.On the one hand,PSPL is used to realize a more comprehensive analysis and evaluation of the use of outdoor public spaces in colleges and universities,and use rigorous theories and methods to construct a scientific evaluation system suitable for the environment of outdoor public spaces in colleges and universities,and promote the attention and attention of industry scholars to this research.Explore.On the other hand,advocating the construction of outdoor space in colleges and universities should proceed from the perspective of student living space and the needs of students’ public life in the information age.Provide new research ideas for improving the quality of outdoor public spaces in colleges and universities,improving the quality of life of students,and meeting the needs of students’ daily life.This paper conducts in-depth research on the subject with the logical framework of "propose a problem-investigate a problem-analyze a problem-solve a problem".First of all,summarize and sort out the related concepts of outdoor public space in colleges and universities,PSPL related theories and IPA model analysis method,and lay a solid theoretical foundation for subsequent research.At the same time,it demonstrated the applicability of PSPL in this study and the feasibility of the IPA model analysis method.Secondly,combining GIS big data methods and IPA model analysis method,construct the evaluation system of college outdoor public space based on PSPL survey method.Taking the outdoor public space of Nanjing University of Science as the research object,the outdoor public space of Southern University of Technology is divided into four types of spaces for research according to the daily life patterns of students.Thirdly,from the dual-subject perspective of student living space(PS)and student daily life(PL),the three parts of outdoor public space form,space quality,and students’ daily life behavior characteristics are deeply studied.Combining the PSPL survey method,combining qualitative and quantitative methods to obtain: spatial form characteristics,spatial quality characteristics and the evaluation of students’ satisfaction with the space,the temporal law of student life,and the characteristics of behavior distribution.Combining the students’ satisfaction with space quality,taking the students’ importance to the evaluation factors affecting the space environment as the measurement of students’ needs,the key points of the space,the secondary problems to be solved and the students’ daily needs for the space are obtained.Finally,for the problems existing in the outdoor public space of Southern Institute of Technology,we propose targeted optimization design strategies from the levels of space safety,user comfort and demand pleasure,and apply them to the design practice of Southern Institute of Technology’s outdoor public spaces to improve students The purpose is the quality of life and campus space.At the same time,it is hoped that the research system can provide certain inspiration and reference significance for the future optimization of campus space design in colleges and universities.
