| With the acceleration of urbanisation, urban space has taken on a diversified and complex development form,of which the water space plays a vital role in the ecological and human environment of the city.As a typical river valley city,Lanzhou City, with the Yellow River running east and west through the city and the two mountains facing each other from north to south, has created a unique urban spatial pattern and landscape landscape, and the waterfront space has unique resources and values, but it is constrained by the geographical environment and urban development, and the problem of ecological damage is becoming increasingly prominent. The article provides a systematic review of the concept of resilient cities and the research related to water system spaces,as well as the evolution of water systems in the Lanzhou section of the Yellow River, with a focus on the latter.Based on an analysis of the spatial characteristics of water systems and in light of the actual situation of the water systems in the Lanzhou section of the Yellow River, the article examines the current problems and lack of resilience in the region, and proposes a plan to improve the resilience of water systems in the area based on the concept of resilient cities. The plan involves establishing a resilience system and methodology of water system spaces according to the principles of resilient city theory, using Arc GIS software to construct a rainwater and flood safety pattern and to identify waterfront landscape points.By simulating the division from surface to line to point,a water corridor space is created, and planning strategies are proposed to improve the resilience of the Lanzhou section of the Yellow River’s space from the perspectives of water system connectivity, rainwater restoration, and ecological redundancy. The strategies include optimizing the spatial pattern of water space to enhance water network connectivity, carrying out rainwater management to improve the resistance to rainwater disasters, and planning ecological and human landscape points to strengthen the resilience of waterfront spaces.Through the implementation of these strategies based on the concept of resilient city planning, the article aims to address the current problems of weak water network connectivity, poor stability of water corridors, and insufficient ecological redundancy in the Lanzhou section of the Yellow River’s water system space. In summary, the spatial resilience of the water system is used as an entry point to build a resilient Yellow River space that is resistant to rainfall and flooding, with a view to realising the vision of water-city integration. It provides new ideas and methods for the spatial planning of the water system of the Lanzhou section of the Yellow River, and offers implications for the coordinated development of urban resilience and water system space. |
