Study On The Characteristics And Protection Strategies Of Traditional Folk Houses In Zhangzhou

Zhangzhou is the second batch of national famous historical and cultural cities.The complex natural and cultural environment has created a variety of residential types in Zhangzhou,such as earth buildings,foreign buildings,arcades,courtyard buildings,etc.Therefore,the traditional residential buildings in Zhangzhou are representative and typical.Influenced by factors such as globalization,urban development and natural cycle,traditional folk houses are gradually disappearing.In the protection and renewal of traditional residential buildings and regional architectural creation,there are problems that the style and features of traditional residential buildings are mixed and misused.Therefore,the research on the style of Zhangzhou traditional folk houses is of great significance to the protection of traditional folk houses,the shaping of characteristic urban and rural style and the creation of regional architecture.This paper takes the architectural style as the research perspective,selects the traditional folk houses in Zhangzhou as the research object,and combs the characteristics of Zhangzhou’s natural environment and human environment and the composition of people through the method of literature reading.Through on-site investigation,one hundred and eight traditional villages and traditional houses in historical settlements in Zhangzhou,combined with relevant research results of traditional houses in Zhangzhou area,and using typological research methods,the types of traditional houses in Zhangzhou are divided into five types:single house,courtyard house,earth building,arcade building and western building.From three aspects of material,color and form,this paper analyzes the style characteristics of five elements of traditional folk houses including roof,gable,wall,base and doors and windows.Explore the natural environment and cultural factors that cause the differences in style,divide the traditional folk houses in Zhangzhou into three style areas according to the influencing factors,and summarize the characteristics of each style area.Combined with the characteristics of traditional residential style areas,this paper puts forward protection strategies,and carries out the design practice of new residential buildings according to the characteristics of different styles.Through a series of studies,using the theories of architecture and typology,from point to surface,from the part of the building to the single traditional residence,and then to the whole style area,this paper comprehensively analyzes the style of traditional residence,enriches the research results of traditional residence in Zhangzhou,puts forward the protection strategy of traditional residence in Zhangzhou,and designs the new residence according to the style characteristics of different style areas,It provides a reference for the protection of traditional folk houses and the creative practice of regional architecture in Zhangzhou.
