With the development and progress of the times,sustainable design has gradually become one of the most important issues in the world today.At the same time,national living standards have reached new heights,and the annual consumption of eggs is nearly 40 million tons,resulting in a large number of waste eggshells.When such a large number of waste eggshells are improperly disposed of in landfills without considering further uses,it is both a pollution of the environment and a waste of resources.Eggshells have characteristics such as high strength,high hardness,high calcium content,light weight,stable properties and safety.Studies have shown that the use of waste eggshells before decay can greatly reduce methane emissions and improve the utilization of biogenic calcium carbonate.Although some results have been achieved in the reuse design of waste eggshells,the overall utilization rate of eggshells is low and there is a lack of a unified recycling mechanism and a standardized reuse pathway,which still requires more diversified design attempts and explorations.Therefore,the study of reuse design of waste eggshells has certain theoretical value and practical significance.From the perspective of sustainability and product life cycle,this paper analyzes the composition and characteristics of waste eggshells,explores the main sources of discarded eggshells,rethinks the overall life cycle of discarded eggshells,takes bakery as the application site,takes cleaning utensils as the design carrier,and applies reuse design principles and design methods to carry out a study on the design practice of recycling and reuse of waste eggshells.The design practice of recycling and reuse of eggshells is studied and the results and shortcomings are summarized and analyzed.
