Study On The Industrial Transformation And Spatial Optimization Of Resource-Exhausted Cities And Towns

Resource-based towns,as an important type of town in China,have played an enormous role in promoting economy.However,depletion of resources is nowadays leading to slow industrial and economic development in these towns,as well as some urgent urban issues.In order to alleviate social contradictions and achieve social harmony,it is essential to transform the industries in resource-exhausted towns and restore economic development.During the process,the most critical thing is to adjust industrial structure as well as shaping spatial structure to promote the transition from industrial town to integrated town.For the transformation of resource-exhausted towns in China,the industrial path selection and the adjustment of industrial structure are mostly based on economic perspective.While fewer researchers focus on the re-layout of urban spatial structure and optimization strategy of land from the view of urban planning.In this paper,firstly relevant concepts and theoretical basis are compiled,as well as domestic and foreign successful cases of resources-exhausted industrial town transformation.By comparing,analyzing and summarize things above,the purpose and value of this study are specified.After that,the path of industrial transformation options of the resource-exhausted towns is discussed via analyzing the multiple relationships between industrial development of resource-exhausted towns and space use.Then the following measures come out:(1)promoting the integration of industrial development and urban space,as well as development of industrial clusters;(2)developing moderate urban scale and promoting functional development strategy;(3)developing geographical and cultural characteristics of towns;(4)establishing highly efficient transport system;(5)organizing the development with the law of the timing as well as controlling spatial planning.Finally,based on the above analysis,the implementation strategies of the spatial structure adjustment during the Wudaojiang Town industrial transformation process are proposed as a practical case.
