| Ancient towns have rich historical and cultural resources and unique folk customs,and are important components of our cultural heritage.However,with the acceleration of urbanization and the rise of tourism,there is an imbalance between protection and development of ancient towns and the phenomenon of excessive commercialization,which leads to the loss of historical and cultural inheritance,resulting in more and more ancient towns and ancient villages losing their traditional features,the dilution of rural customs and people’s conditions,the destruction of characteristic buildings to varying degrees and other problems.It is therefore of great practical importance to explore the protection and development of ancient cities from the point of view of the cultural landscape.This paper takes Shangyuanguan Ancient Town of Chenggu County,Hanzhong City as an example,comprehensively uses literature research,case analysis at home and abroad,field research,spatial analysis,qualitative and quantitative combination of research methods,summarizes relevant concepts,combs domestic and foreign research status,analyzes the French Provence town,Shaanxi Hanzhong Qingmuchuan ancient town,Shanxi Pingyao Ancient town,Zhejiang Province Tongxiang City Wuzhen and other relevant cases.Learn from the successful experience of ancient town protection and development,and lay the theoretical foundation of this paper.Secondly,it analyzes the cultural resources of Shangyuanguan ancient town,constructs the comprehensive evaluation system of Shangyuanguan ancient town,and evaluates the current situation of the ancient town’s cultural landscape.The results of the evaluation show that it puts forward the protection and development strategy of the Shangyuanguan ancient city.Key research findings include:1.Analyze the cultural landscape resources of the ancient town of Shangyuan Guan,and divide the cultural landscape resources of the ancient town into two categories: material cultural landscape and intangible cultural landscape.The material cultural landscape includes natural landscape,agricultural and production landscape,architectural landscape and street layout,and the intangible cultural landscape is the local folk culture.2.According to the relevant national regulations,norms and evaluation standards,by consulting a large number of literature,conducting field research and expert opinion consultation,the evaluation indicators of the cultural landscape and tourism resources of Shangyuanguan ancient town are screened,and the comprehensive evaluation system of Shangyuanguan ancient town from the perspective of cultural landscape is constructed,including 1 target layer,6 project layers and 27 index layers.After the study,the weight order is: architectural landscape > folk custom regional culture > street layout > tourism conditions > natural landscape > agricultural production landscape.3.Combined with the current situation of Shangyuanguan Ancient town,according to the evaluation system,data collection is carried out for quantitative indicators,questionnaire survey is issued for qualitative indicators,and scores of each index layer are determined.The total comprehensive evaluation score of Shangyuanguan Ancient Town is 6.8971 points,with good evaluation results,indicating that Shangyuanguan Ancient Town has good cultural landscape value and development potential.Through the analysis and evaluation results,it is concluded that the ancient town has a good architectural landscape foundation.The buildings and sites in Shangyuanguan Ancient town are well preserved,with certain characteristics and scale.The number of streets and lanes is large,the streets and lanes are well preserved,and the advantages of architecture and site type richness are significant,which are the focus of its future protection and the core advantages of development and utilization.However,the ancient town tourism development is lagging behind,the degree of infrastructure perfection and tourism reception capacity is low,in the future development process,should increase the tourist center,leisure places,small facilities,environmental protection facilities,warning signs,guardrail and other tourism infrastructure,enhance the reception capacity of the ancient town,promote the tourism development of Shangyuanguan ancient town.4.Combined with the results of theoretical basic research,field investigation,spatial analysis,cultural landscape resource analysis and comprehensive evaluation,protection strategies are proposed from five aspects: hierarchical control and protection of ancient towns,street layout protection,architectural landscape protection,folk custom regional cultural landscape and ecological landscape protection;This paper puts forward tourism development strategies from five aspects: clarifying tourism spatial structure,integrating surrounding cultural resources,improving basic service facilities,constructing cultural tourism product system and planning characteristic tourism routes,so as to realize sustainable development of Shangyuan Guan Ancient
