Revival Of The Ancient Town In The South Of Yangtze River-research On The Protection And Utilization Of The Overall Appearance Of Meicheng Ancient Town

The rapid development of the social economy and the rapid process of the urbanization have brought great challenges to the protection of historic cultural towns. A large number of historic towns have suffered from irreversible damages. The governments at all levels and the society have already realized the urgency of the protection and rational utilization of the resources in the historical and cultural towns. They have also carried out researches and attempts in many aspects. Based on the research of the protection and utilization of the overall appearance of Meicheng ancient town in Jiande Zhejiang, this paper studies a series of issues on the protection, exploitation and utilization of the ancient town.First of all, on the basis of summarizing and learning from the domestic and foreign research results of the protection of historical and cultural towns, this paper constructs the basic framework of the subject. Then, it proposes the basic theories of ancient town protection involved in this subject and forms the general idea of the protection and utilization of the overall appearance of Meicheng ancient town. Furthermore, on the basis of the analysis and research on the domestic and foreign cases of historic town and village protection, it abstracts the specific ideas based on the reference. Finally, it carries out the overall evaluation, analysis and summary of the overall appearance characteristics, space composition, residents’ living conditions of Meicheng ancient town, proposing the ideas of the protection and utilization of the overall appearance of Meicheng ancient town, and elaborating the detailed implementation strategies of the protection and utilization.This paper is the practical summary and theoretical discussion on basis of the research of practical project. Through the combing and summarizing of the different cases at home and abroad, and the comparison between different theories and concepts, this paper aims to find some strategies for the better protection of the overall appearance of historical and cultural towns, as well as the planning of an orderly and sustainable development trend of the economy, culture and tourism in the historic towns.
