| As a spatial carrier of human settlement, the village settlement has a long history and cultural value. However, with the accelerating process of urbanisation and modernisation, the awareness of people for the protection and inheritance of traditional culture has gradually diminished. Most of the existing studies on the spatial morphology of rural settlements are superficial, while in-depth morphological analysis at the spatial genetic level is lacking.Ankang is located in the core region of the Qinba Mountains in the south of Shaanxi Province,a special geographical location where the geography and culture of the north and south of China merge, with a complex and diverse landscape and a rich variety of rural settlement types. The shallow hills of Ankang, the area selected for this study,is not only the area where the large and medium-sized rural settlements of Ankang are concentrated, but also has a rich composition of landscape types, which has given rise to diverse and three-dimensional rural settlement patterns, making the interpretation of its morphological patterns more complex. In view of this, this study takes rural settlements in the shallow hills of Ankang as the research object, and uses relevant quantitative analysis methods and parametric means to quantitatively study their spatial patterns from macroscopic, mesoscopic and microscopic perspectives,so as to explore the deeper patterns of the spatial patterns of settlements and provide data support and theoretical guidance for the protection, inheritance and sustainable development of the local rural settlements. The main contents of this paper are: firstly,a quantitative study on the overall morphology of rural settlements in the shallow hilly areas of Ankang at the macro level. The GIS platform is used to analyse the site selection and distribution patterns of the settlements.Secondly, based on the Pu’s method, the data on the morphology of the settlement boundaries are collated in tables and graphs, including the settlement morphology index, the area perimeter ratio of the settlement boundaries and the dispersion of the settlement boundaries;thirdly,at the micro level, the spatial axis model of the streets and alleys in the settlement is established using the spatial sentence method, and the integration, comprehensibility and selectivity parameters are analysed.analyse the morphological characteristics of the streets and alleys in the settlement. The spatial order of the public space and the street space is quantified by combining the theory of landscape ecology, and the spatial structure is calculated by using dimensional values. The spatial order of building clusters is discussed, with the main quantitative analysis consisting of data related to the density of buildings in clusters, average area, area disorder and other relevant data.Fourthly, based on the quantitative study of settlement morphology at the macro, meso and micro levels carried out in the previous section, this chapter integrates and analyses various types of quantitative data on rural settlement morphology in the shallow hilly areas of Ankang, explores the main influencing factors affecting the generation of settlement morphological features, and conducts correlation analysis on various types of data.It provides scientific and accurate data support and theoretical guidance for the spatial heritage of rural settlements in the local area and even in similar areas. |
