With the continuous acceleration of world economic integration, the production and operation mode of the automotive industry has gone through three stages: manual production, mass production, and lean production.Global automakers have continuously summarized business management philosophies that are suitable for their own development in the past, among which the Lean Six Sigma(LSS)theory has gained widespread recognition and application in the automotive industry due to its full absorption and integration of the two important advantages of eliminating seven major waste and reducing process fluctuations.Under the guidance of Lean Six Sigma theory, enterprises focus on customer-centered,continuously optimize production and operation control processes, enhance core competitiveness, and continuously achieve low-cost,high-quality,and high-efficiency business goals. This article is based on the Lean Six Sigma theory and takes the production control process of B company’s automotive engine as the research object. It includes five portions: personnel infrastructure, standardization, quality focus,Just In Time, and continuous improvement.Through comprehensive discussion of these aspects, specific problems such as poor production line balance rate, low FTT,First Time Through, rate of EOL,end of line, testing, and incomplete on-site standardization management are identified. In terms of the poor balance rate of the production line,by analyzing the cycle time of each process and the takt time, identifying the causes of bottleneck processes and implementing solutions, the balance rate of the production line has been improved; In terms of the issue of low FTT rate in EOL testing, the core tool of Lean Six Sigma,DMAIC,was adopted, which includes five stages:Define,Measure,Analyze,Improve, and Control. The main factor affecting this indicator, namely piston blow by out of SPEC.was solved, significantly improving the FTT rate;In terms of the issue of incomplete on-site standardized management, the management process has been optimized from five perspectives: SQDCM,namely safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale,to strengthen the level of enterprise’s on-site management.
