| The high temperature environment is harmful to the health of goats,affecting the growth and reproduction of goats,reducing the immune ability,and even leading to the death of goats.Chinese herbal medicine contains a variety of nutrients,has the effect of promoting growth,improving immunity and anti-stress.GABA is a non-protein amino acid that enhances appetite,enhances immunity and fights stress.In this experiment,Boer goat hybrid white goat was selected as the test object.By observing clinical manifestations,daily gain,daily feed intake,feed to gain ratio,endocrine,antioxidant,immune and serum biochemical indexes were determined,and the effects of Chinese herbal medicine combined with GABA compound feed additive on heat stress resistance of Boer goat hybrid white goat were studied under high temperature conditions in summer.To provide a green,safe and effective compound feed additive against heat stress for goats.The experiment was carried out under the high temperature conditions in Chongqing in summer(July and August).Twelve Boer goat hybrid white goat weighing16.61±2.26 kg were selected and randomly divided into three groups: Control group(Control group),CHM group and CHM+GABA group(CHM+GABA group),with four goats in each group.The Control group received only the basal diet daily,In the CHM group,an additional 1.8 g of Chinese herbal medicine was added to the basal diet per day,The CHM+GABA group was supplemented with 1.8 g of Chinese herbal medicine and 0.4 g of GABA per day.The formal experimental period was 40 days,and on days10,30,and 40 of the experiment,goats were weighed in an empty stomach,blood was collected,serum was separated,encapsulated,and frozen at-80 ° C.Findings were as follows:1.Clinical manifestations: Under high temperature conditions,the Control group showed obvious heat stress(runny nose,cough),symptoms for a week and repeated symptoms,coarse and lustrous goat coat,feeding speed decreased significantly;The heat stress of CHM group was mild,and the symptoms recovered in 2-3 days.Compared with the control group,the coat of CHM group was more shiny and the feeding speed was faster.CHM+GABA group showed no obvious heat stress,and the coat was brighter and the feeding speed was significantly accelerated compared with Control group and CHM group.2.Production performance:(1)The average daily gain(ADG)in CHM+GABA group,CHM group and Control group were 193.13 g,184.38 g and 134.38 g,respectively.Compared with Control group,the ADG in CHM+GABA group and CHM group increased by 43.7%(P<0.05)and 37.1%(P<0.05),respectively.(2)The average daily feed intake of CHM+GABA group,CHM group and Control group was 2033 g,1960 g and 1870 g,respectively.The average daily feed intake of CHM+GABA group and CHM group was significantly higher than that of Control group,and that of CHM+GABA group was significantly higher than that of CHM group.(3)Compared with the Control group,the feed/gain in CHM+GABA group and CHM group decreased by 26.18%(P<0.05)and 25.62%(P<0.05),respectively.In conclusion,compared with the Control group,both CHM and CHM+GABA groups increased the daily gain and daily feed intake,reduced the feed to gain ratio,and improved the performance of goats.Among them,the CHM+GABA group had the best effect.3.Contents of T3 and T4:(1)T3 content: On the10 th day,CHM+GABA group was higher than that in Control group(P<0.05)and CHM group(P<0.05);On the30 th day,CHM+GABA group was significantly higher than Control group and CHM group,and CHM group was significantly higher than Control group(P<0.01);On the 40 th day,CHM+GABA and CHM groups were significantly higher than Control group(P<0.01).(2)T4 content: On the 10 th day,CHM+GABA group was significantly higher than Control group(P<0.01),CHM group was significantly higher than Control group(P<0.05),on the 30 th day,CHM+GABA group was significantly higher than Control group(P<0.01)and CHM group(P<0.05),on the 40 th day,CHM+GABA group was significantly higher than Control group and CHM group.These results indicated that,compared with the Control group,both CHM and CHM+GABA could improve the endocrine function,enhance the thyroid function,and increase the contents of T3 and T4 in serum of Boza white goats under heat stress.4.Antioxidant properties:(1)T-AOC content: on the 10 th day,CHM+GABA group was significantly higher than that in CHM group and Control group;CHM+GABA group was higher than CHM group and Control group at 30 d and 40 d,but there was no significant difference.(2)SOD content: on the 30 th day,CHM+GABA group and CHM group were significantly higher than Control group(P<0.05);CHM+GABA group was higher than CHM group and Control group at 10 th day and 40 th day,but there was no significant difference.(3)MDA content: on the 10 th day and 40 th day,CHM group and CHM+GABA group were significantly lower than Control group(P<0.05).The above results showed that,compared with the Control group,the addition of CHM and CHM+GABA improved the degree of oxidative stress of goats,and CHM+GABA had the most significant effect on the improvement of oxidative stress of goats,which further indicated that GABA,CHM and CHM+GABA had the potential to be used as protective agents and regulators of oxidative stress of Boer goat hybrid white goat.5.Immune performance:(1)IL-1 content: on the 10 th day,CHM+GABA group was significantly lower than Control group and CHM group,and CHM group was lower than Control group(P<0.05);On the 30 th day,CHM+GABA group was significantly lower than CHM group and Control group,and CHM group was significantly lower than Control group(P<0.01);On the 40 th day,CHM+GABA group was significantly lower than Control group(P<0.01),CHM group was significantly lower than Control group(P<0.05);(2)IL-6 content: on the 30 th day,CHM+GABA group was significantly lower than Control group(P<0.05);At day 10 and 40,both CHM+GABA and CHM groups were lower than Control group,but there was no significant difference.(3)TNF-α content in CHM+GABA group was significantly lower than that in CHM and Control groups at the 10 th and 40 th,and CHM group was significantly lower than that in Control group(P<0.01);On the 30 th day,CHM+GABA group was significantly lower than CHM group and Control group,and CHM group was significantly lower than Control group(P<0.05);(4)GC content in CHM group and CHM+GABA group was significantly higher than that in Control group on the 30 th day(P<0.01);(5)Ig A content: on the 10 th day,CHM group was higher than Control group(P<0.05),CHM+GABA was higher than Control group(P<0.01);On the 30 th day,CHM+GABA group was higher than Control group(P<0.05);(6)Ig G content: On the 10 th day,CHM group was higher than Control group(P<0.05);CHM+GABA group was higher than Control group at day 10,30 and 40,but there was no significant difference.(7)Ig M content: on the 10 th day,CHM group and CHM+GABA group were significantly higher than Control group(P<0.01);On the 30 th day,CHM+GABA group was significantly higher than Control group(P<0.05).The above results showed that compared with the Control group,CHM and CHM+GABA groups inhibited the expression of inflammatory factors,effectively alleviating the adverse effects of inflammatory factors on goats under heat stress.At the same time,it promoted the synthesis of immunoglobulin and improved the immune capacity of bozag white goats.Compared with CHM,the effect of CHM+GABA was better.6.Biochemical indices: P content: on the 10 th day,CHM+GABA group was significantly higher than Control group(P<0.05);On the 30 th day,CHM+GABA group was significantly higher than CHM group(P<0.05);The contents of ALT and AST in CHM+GABA group were significantly lower than those in Control group at 30 d and40d(P<0.05).AST content: at 30 d and 40 d,CHM+GABA group was significantly lower than CHM group(P<0.05);ALP content: On the 10 th day,CHM+GABA group was significantly lower than Control group(P<0.05);TC content: On the 30 th day,CHM group and CHM+GABA group were significantly lower than CHM group(P<0.05);CK content: On the 40 th day,CHM+GABA group was significantly lower than Control group(P<0.05).The above results showed that heat stress affected the normal physiological functions of kidney,liver and other organs in high temperature environment,leading to loss of appetite and metabolic disorders of Boer goat hybrid white goat.Compared with the Control group,CHM and CHM+GABA groups effectively maintained the normal biochemical indexes,indicating that CHM and CHM+GABA could alleviate the damage caused by heat stress on goats.The results showed that both Chinese herbal medicine and Chinese herbal medicine combined with GABA could improve the antioxidant function of the body,enhance the immune capacity and maintain the normal biochemical indexes by increasing the content of T3 and T4 in the serum,so as to improve the clinical manifestations of goats under heat stress conditions,and thus improve the production performance of goats.Among them,Chinese herbal medicine combined with GABA had better anti-heat stress effect. |
