Objective:In this study,we evaluated the clinical efficacy of different electro-acupuncture depths in the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease at the Jiaji points as a means of exploring better acupuncture depths for the treatment of the disease and optimizing the acupuncture operation for clinical reference. Methods:A total of 72 patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,36 cases in each group.Patients in both groups were given basic lifestyle intervention. The treatment group was treated with electroacupuncture at deep Jiaji points, and the control group was treated with electroacupuncture at shallow Jiaji points, once every other day, three times a week, four weeks as a course of treatment,a total of two courses of treatment. After the treatment, the changes of liver B-ultrasound,TCM symptom score, waist circumference(WC),body weight(BW),body mass index(BMI),liver function and blood lipid levels before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. The difference of curative effect between the two groups was compared, and the effect of two kinds of deep treatment was evaluated.Results:1.Body measurement indicators:Compared with before treatment, the values of WC,BW and BMI in the two groups were lower and the differences were significant(P<0.01).The three indicators decreased more significantly in the treatment group than in the control group, with statistical differences(P<0.05 or P<0.01).2.TCM symptom score:After treatment, the TCM symptom scores decreased significantly in both groups(P<0.01),with a more significant decrease in the treatment group than the control group(P<0.01).3.Liver function:After treatment,ALT,AST and GGT decreased significantly in both groups compared to pre-treatment(P<0.01).The decrease of ALT and AST in the treatment group was better than that in the control group,(P<0.05 or P<0.01),and the decrease of GGT in both groups was comparable(P>0.05).Compared to the control group, the treatment group had a higher rate of ALT reversion, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).4.Blood lipid:After treatment,TC,TG and LDL-C decreased significantly in both groups compared to the pre-treatment period(P<0.01).The decreases of TC,TG and LDL-C were greater in the treatment group compared to the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05)The increases of HDL-C in the two groups were comparable, and the difference was not significant(P>0.05).Compared to the control group, the treatment group had a higher rate of TG reversion, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).5.Clinical efficacy:①Liver B-ultrasound:The total effective rate of the treatment group and the control group were 88.24%and 57.58%respectively.The treatment group was more effective than the control group in improving the degree of fatty liver on ultrasound, the difference was significant(P<0.01)② TCM syndromes:The total effective rates of the treatment and control groups were 79.41%and 51.51%respectively.The treatment group outperformed the control group in terms of improvement of TCM symptoms, with a significant difference(P<0.01).Conclusion:Both needling depths are effective in the treatment of NAFLD,which can effectively improve the TCM symptoms, liver Bultrasound fat index, liver function, blood lipid, weight loss, waist circumference and BMI of NAFLD patients. The improvement effect of deep needling at Jiaji points is better than that of shallow needling.
