A Report On The E-C Translation Of Said,Spoke,Spluttered,Spouted.The Role Of Text Editors In Stylistic Shift In Translated Children’s Literature | | Posted on:2023-03-19 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:Y S Shi | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2545306818487804 | Subject:Translation | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | With the development of the Internet,there has been an increase in the introduction of children’s literature from other countries.The number of academic research papers on children’s literature is also increasing.Conducting research on the translation of children’s literature can provide theoretical guidance for translation practice and improve the quality of translations.This report is based on the academic paper Said,Spoke,Spluttered,Spouted.The Role of Text Editors in Stylistic Shift in Translated Children’s Literature,and focuses on the difficulties encountered in the translation process.This report is divided into four chapters.The first chapter Introduction of the Translation Project introduces relevant information of the author and writing background of the original text Said,Spoke,Spluttered,Spouted.The Role of Text Editors in Stylistic Shift in Translated Children’s Literature,translation purpose,text characteristics as well as the practical significance of the translation practice through four sections.The second chapter Introduction of the Text Features is the overall layout of the project translation process,including pre-translation preparation,translation process and post-translation review.The third chapter introduces the CEA framework proposed by Professor Li Changshuan.The fourth chapter Case Analysis Based on the CEA Framework,which is the key part of this thesis,analyzes the text under this framework,and in this framework to sort out the text,shows the author how to find the problem,analyze the text,and then solve the problem.The comprehension aspect includes understanding the role of hedges in academic papers and understanding vocabulary in context;the three aspects of expression are how to avoid Westernised Chinese,how to adjust the structure of sentences and how to ensure the logical coherence of the text to make the language smooth and the content precise;the adaptation aspect include rhetorical adaptations,sequencing adaptations,and flexible additions and deletions to achieve cultural communication and bring a better reading experience to the readers.And the last chapter is Summary which summarizes the experience of this translation practice,recognizes the limitations of the research and defines the direction of future efforts.This translation practice report is guided by the CEA framework proposed by Professor Li Changshuan,and explores the translation process of the academic paper from three perspectives of comprehension,expression and adaptation.In response to the problems encountered in the translation process,the author proposes solutions,and hopes to make certain contribution to the translation of the same type of text. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | children’s literature translation, CEA framework, comprehension, expression, adaptation | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
