The Study Of Ruan Ji’s Life Philosophy

The philosophy of life is concerned about the problem of human life itself,and it is the understanding of how to establish oneself in the society,how to settle one’s mind,how to release one’s spirit,as well as the problems of existence,death and life realm.The period of Wei and Jin Dynasties was an important stage of the awakening of ancient Chinese intellectuals.The paid more attention to the inner world in their creation and paid more attention to human life itself.Ruan Ji as an important philosopher in Zhengshi period,he also held Confucian ideal,eager to realize the ambition of serving the country.However,due to the influence of The Times,it was difficult to realize his ideal,and his thought gradually shifted from the famous teachings of Confucianism to the nature of Taoism.Ruan Ji’s works contain the contradictions and painful psychology between the cruel realistic society and the individual living state and the meaning of life and how to deal with the relationship between individuals and society.The thoughts of philosophers are always closely related to The Times in which they live,so it is impossible to study Ruan Ji’s thoughts without exploring the historical background of Ruan Ji’s life.In the first part of this article,the author firstly expounds the social and cultural background of Ruan Ji’s life from the political,economic and social and cultural aspects of Wei and Jin Dynasties.The Wei and Jin Dynasties was a period of great social change,which was not only influence by the previous dynasties,but also closely related to the historical background and important trends of thought.Secondly,the discussion is divided into two aspects:the connotation of the debate and the evolution of the debate.In the end,it discusses Ruan Ji’s choice between the Confucian ethical code and the nature,that is,his thought is divided into three stages:the early stage is dominated by Confucianism;The middle thought is the combination of Confucianism and Taoism;Later converted to Taoist thought.Music is one of the important representatives of Chinese traditional art,which embodies Chinese life aesthetics thought.However,Confucianism attaches great importance to the relationship between music and individual life.Music can cultivate people’s sentiment,change people’s mood,and influence people’s hearts by infecting and edifying people.In the view of Confucianism,this role of music is closely related to the value orientation of Confucianism to actively enter the world.People follow social norms through the guidance of music and get along harmoniously with each other.Ruan Ji’s Music Theory carries the Confucian music concepts of "harmony" and "neutralization",which he places on "sages".Sages advocate "correct sound" and "elegant music",and combine them with rites to promote ethical education and achieve political harmony and common people’s happiness.It can be seen that the construction of"sages",the ideal personality of Confucianism,reflects the deep social concern in Ruan Ji’s life philosophy.The philosophy of life includes the understanding of a series of issues such as the essence of human life,the meaning of life and the destination of life,among which the view of life and death is an important aspect and the most concentrated embodiment of the philosophy of life.Ruan Ji,as a famous metaphysician in Wei during The Three Kingdoms period,his discussion on the question of life and death represented the views of Wei and Jin generations.However,due to his special experience and profound ideological cultivation,Ruan Ji’s view of life and death presents the characteristics of systematism,uniqueness and richness.His view of life and death inherits and develops the thought of Taoism,which holds that all things are produced by vitality,and all things are integrated,and life and death are also integrated.Ruan Ji praised the beauty of life and feared the coming of death in times of insecurity.Therefore,he believed that people should live to the fullest extent of the life given by heaven,and die according to the proper character.Ruan Ji invented an unfettered,free and transcendent celestial realm and an adult who transcends the secular and is in harmony with the Tao in his poems,so as to realize the highest realm of his life philosophy.At the same time,it also brings life enlightenment and rich ideological value to the future generations.
