A Report On The Translation Of The Principles Of Economics(Graphic Edition)

Today’s society has seen rapid economic development and frequent international exchanges,thus the importance of economic text translation is becoming increasingly prominent.Therefore,economic texts featuring unique terminology,complex sentence structures and strict logic,which increases the difficulty of translating economic texts.This translation practice report is based on the translation of its preface and the first two chapters.In the process of translation,the translator analyses the difficulties encountered in the process of English-Chinese translation of economic texts from lexical and syntactic level,like determining the meaning and word class of certain words,as well as maintaining the beauty of the translation.At the syntactic level,the difficulty lies in structural analysis of long and difficult sentences,analysis of logical relationships,etc.In view of solving these problems,the translator adopts translation techniques such as specific translation,Chinese four-character expressions,repetition,word-class conversion at the lexical level and inversion,amplification and division at syntactic level separately in order to achieve the accuracy and readability of the translation.
