A Report On The English-Chinese Translation Of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Recent Trends And Applications (Excerpts)

The concept of artificial intelligence was originally proposed by Alan Turing.Nowadays,artificial intelligence is widely used in many scenes in life,such as security,finance,medical treatment,transportation,retail,industrial manufacturing,etc.With the continuous development of the digital economy,the current machine judgment processing capabilities and intelligence level will continue to improve,and the rapid development of artificial intelligence is driving humans into a new era of intelligence.The translator chooses two chapters of Artificial Intelligence(AI)Recent Trends and Applications as the source text for translation.This translation report chooses functional equivalence theory as the basis of translation theory to guide the translation of scientific texts.Under the guidance of functional equivalence theory,reasonable translation strategies are adopted to realize the equivalence of content,style,and form between the source text and the translated text.Under the guidance of functional equivalence theory,the translator analyzes the translation at three levels,namely,the lexical level,the syntactic level and the textual level.At the lexical level,the translator analyzes technical terms,proper nouns and nominalized expressions.At the syntactic level,the translator analyzes the translation methods and strategies of complex sentences and passive sentences.At the textual level,the translator chose the thematic progression phenomenon and grammatical cohesion as case analysis.Through the writing of this translation practice report,the translator has a deeper understanding of the stylistic style and translation characteristics of scientific and technological texts.At the same time,the translator also learns about artificial intelligence and learns the latest scientific and technological information.Through this translation practice,the translator analyzes the case from multiple perspectives,adopts a variety of translation strategies,starting from the three perspectives of vocabulary,syntax,and text,to improve the translator’s translation ability.Meanwhile,the translator hopes that this translation practice report can provide some reference for those translators who like scientific translation.
