Multidimensional Study Of “ X Dog ” Structure

The popularity of the movie “A Chinese Odyssey” in 2011 made the word“single dog” quickly become popular,and then the “X Dog” word group imitating“single dog” was frequently used on the virtual network and in real life,and gradually solidified into a structure.The structure of “X Dog” is different from the old words such as “lackey” and “reservoir dog”,and has undergone great changes in semantics,grammar,and pragmatics.On the basis of previous academic studies,this paper selects “X Dog” structure as the research object and carries out three-dimensional and multi-dimensional investigation on it.Firstly,this paper discusses the definition and component analysis of “X Dog”structure.By comparing with the old “X Dog” structure,this paper summarizes the three defining criteria of “X Dog”,and collects the language material according to the criteria to present the “X Dog” word group required by the article.Then,the variable“X” and the constant “Dog” are analyzed in terms of semantics and grammar.Secondly,this paper discusses the evolution process and mechanism of “X Dog”structure.The evolution of the structure of “X Dog” is closely related to the change of the variable “X” and the constant “Dog”,so this paper discusses the structure of “X Dog” in two diachronic and synchronic planes respectively.Then the evolution mechanism of “X Dog”structure is elaborated from four aspects: metaphor mechanism,analogy mechanism,semantic extension and social culture.Thirdly,this paper gives a detailed description of the semantic and pragmatic expression of the whole structure of “X Dog”.According to the criteria,“X Dog”belongs to language meme.In terms of semantics,this paper analyzes the conceptual meaning and color meaning of the “X Dog” structure;in terms of pragmatics,this paper describes the pragmatic features,pragmatic environment and pragmatic limitations of the “X Dog” structure.Finally,this paper introduces the meme theory to study the category and propagation of “X Dog” meme.In terms of category,“X Dog” meme belongs to strong meme and derivative meme,and in terms of communication,two communication modes and four communication cycles of “X Dog” meme are discussed,and its future development trend is predicted.
