A Report On Simulated Simultaneous Interpreting Of The China (Hainan)– Dutch Economic And Trade Cooperation Conference

This report uses the China(Hainan)-Dutch Economic and Trade Conference as simulated simultaneous interpretation material,which was held in Haikou in October2020.The content of this report is excerpted from three leaders’ speech,introducing the opening policy,talent introduction and investment attraction of Hainan Free Trade Port,inviting Dutch entrepreneurs to share the new opportunities for Hainan’s development.Under the guidance of Gile’s Effort Model,this report analyzes that by mastering the basic principles and techniques of simultaneous interpreting can help interpreter reduce their cognitive load for comprehension and memorization,thus improving the interpreter’s work.The author also tries to improve the quality of interpreter’s performance more effectively by applying the basic rules of simultaneous interpretation,such as syntactic linearity,appropriate adjustment,as well as the common techniques,such as sentence segmentation,pause and omission.The author hopes that the analyzation of this report can improve shortcomings and hope that it can provide some reference for interpreting learners.
