In recent years,more attention has been paid to the study of exercises in textbooks of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,among which the number of comprehensive textbooks is extremely abundant,but that of subject-based textbooks for teaching Chinese as a foreign language is relatively small.Most of the existing studies focus on the types,quantity and effectiveness of exercises.However,few studies pay attention to the function of cognitive training of exercises.Under this research background,it is very necessary to explore the cognitive classification of exercises in subject-based textbooks.Reading is a complex cognitive process,and the improvement of reading ability can be achieved through exercises training.Reading exercises can promote the processing and understanding of reading information,so they play an important role of cognitive training.Studying the cognitive classification of reading exercises is conducive to strengthening the cognitive training ability of reading exercises,thus improving the quality of reading exercises.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the cognitive classification of reading exercises.In order to improve the quality of exercises and enrich the content of exercise study in teaching Chinese as a foreign language textbooks,and under the theory guidance of the six cognitive process dimensions of Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy,this paper adopts three research methods through documents,statistic and interviews with High frequency verbs in cognitive process dimensions of Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy as a auxiliary tool to study the cognitive classification of reading exercises respectively and to make a comparative study to explore the cognitive classification of reading exercises in "Boya Chinese Reading and Writing(Elementary)" and "Boya Chinese Reading and Writing(Advanced)Ⅱ".In the meantime,this paper also analyzes the problems of the reading exercises in the two textbooks from the cognitive aspect,puts forward suggestions for improvement and provides two detailed examples for optimization.Through above-mentioned studies,this paper draws the following conclusions: "Boya Chinese Reading and Writing(Elementary)" and "Boya Chinese Reading and Writing(Advanced)Ⅱ" have similarities in the types of questions and the cognitive process dimensions involved in the questions.However,the cognitive process dimensions involved in the reading exercises in "Boya Chinese Reading and Writing(Advanced)Ⅱ" are more comprehensive and complicated than those in "Boya Chinese Reading and Writing(Elementary)".Therefore,the reading exercises in the two textbooks are systematic and hierarchical.However,the reading exercises of the two textbooks all have their own problems on the cognitive level,which need to be paid attention to by the academic circles.This paper offers some promotion suggestions for those cognitive problems,so as to give some useful experience.
