A Report On English-Chinese Translation Practice Of The Empty Sea The Future Of The Blue Economy (Excerpt) From The Theory Of Translation Variation

The term "variable translation" was formally put forward by Huang Zhonglian in 1998,and it has been widely used in news and interpretation translation because of its flexible translation methods.However,with the continuous development and deepening of the theory of variant translation,its adaptation in the translation of Marine texts has been paid more attention.Therefore,this paper selects the sixth chapter of The Empty Sea The Future of the Blue Economy written by Ilaria Perissi and Ugo Bardi as the translated text.This paper mainly takes the development of Marine resources involved in books and the future of the blue Marine economy expected by the author under the trend of economic globalization as references,and provides references for the development of our blue Marine economic construction.The materials selected in this translation practice are both scientific and informative.Therefore,in the process of processing translated materials,we should not only pay attention to the translation accuracy of professional terms,but also pay attention to whether the transmission of text information can be accepted by the audience.The purpose of this translation practice is to explore whether the theory of variation is applicable to the translation of Marine economic texts and to refine the translation through its seven core workarounds:amplification is adopted to supplement the unequal information in the original text,omission and condensed translation are adopted to deal with the unimportant content in the original text,adaptation and narrative translation are used to integrate similar content or adjust the structure of the translation,compilation and narrative translation are used to make the information in the original text easier for readers to understand.Through this translation practice,it can be concluded that the theory of variation is suitable to guide the translation of Marine economic texts.Under the guidance of this theory,the selection of appropriate translation means can improve the accuracy and readability of the translation on the basis of fidelity to the original text,so as to facilitate readers to read and understand the information conveyed by the source language.It is hoped that this practice report will provide some reference for the translation theory of the same type of Marine texts.
