The translated material is selected from the fifth chapter of E-commerce 2021-2022,coauthored by Kenneth C.Laudon and Carol Guercio Traver. The book mainly introduces the concepts and problems in the field of e-commerce,emphasizing the three driving forces behind e-commerce: business development, technological change and social problems.By describing the typical cases of enterprises participating in the development of e-commerce,the book analyzes the problems in the field of e-commerce and their causes and risks. The fifth chapter of the book mainly introduces e-commerce security and payment systems, including various ecommerce payment systems and their development,as well as cryptocurrency and blockchain. The report consists of five chapters.Chapter One is the task description, which introduces the background and significance of the translation practice.Chapter Two gives an overview of the CEA framework applied in the report.Chapter Three describes the translation process from three aspects: the preparation phase, the translating phase and the post-translation phase. In Chapter Four, the author studies the problems of comprehension, expression, and adaptation encountered in the translation process and provides corresponding solutions on the basis of analyzing 27 cases at length under the CEA framework. In terms of comprehension, the specific context and the domain knowledge should be taken into consideration in translation. It has been concluded that translators should conduct detailed and scientific investigations to ensure the accurate translation of the professional words and polysemous words. With regard to expression, three aspects including the collocation, the accuracy in the choice of words and the avoidance of Europeanized Chinese have been analyzed in this chapter. It has been concluded that authoritative dictionaries should be used to ensure the accuracy of words and the translator should try to avoid the Europeanized Chinese by using idiomatic Chinese expressions, active voice, and by changing part of speech and so on.As for adaptation, the chapter has focused on three aspects such as the semantic extension, the sentence reconstruction, and the addition and omission, which can be adopted to ensure that the message of the source text is accurately conveyed by taking the differences between English and Chinese into account.Chapter Five is the conclusion of the report. The author sums up his major findings and offers some suggestions in this chapter. In this translation practice, the author uses some translation strategies and translation theories to solve the problems of comprehension, expression and adaptation encountered in translation. It is hoped that this translation report can offer some reference for the research in the field of e-commerce,and the translation strategies summarized in this report can provide some reference for the translation of e-commerce texts.
