E-commerce is a product of economic and trade development,and it also brings business connections around the world closer.In the post-pandemic era,e-commerce is playing an irreplaceable role.This translation material is taken from Chapter 3 of Embracing E-Commerce Revolution in Asia and the Pacific,and the material mainly introduces the development of e-commerce in Asia and the pacific.As the text is informative,the language is more objective,accurate and involves more economic terms.In the translation process,in order to better convey the information of the source text and achieve information equivalence between the source text and the target text,various translation tools are used,several parallel texts are referred to,and Eugene Nida’s functional equivalence is chosen as the guiding theory,and the corresponding translation method is adopted.The functional equivalence theory emphasizes that the translator needs to pay more attention to the reader’s feelings,so the translator needs to use easy-to-understand language to let the reader understand the message the material conveys.The report consists of four parts.The first part introduces the translated material,and significance of this practice.The second part mainly introduces pre-translation,difficulties in the translation and post-translation revision.The third part analyzes typical translation cases from three levels: vocabulary,syntactic structure,and discourse,and present the corresponding translation methods and techniques adopted in conjunction with the theory.At the vocabulary and syntactic level,methods such as free translation,paraphrase,addition,omission,division,combination and shift are mainly adopted,while at the level of discourse,illuminating articulation and correlative articulation in structural articulation are adopted primarily to realize the articulation between paragraphs and sentences in discourse.The fourth part summarizes the translation practice.Through the translation practice,the translator has gained a deeper understanding of Nida’s functional equivalence theory and the development of ecommerce to accumulate professional knowledge for his future translation work.The translator hopes that this translation practice report can provide some help for people who are interested in the development of e-commerce. |
