Nowadays,the problem of rural junior middle school English teaching separated from students’ local life is particularly prominent.It is an effective means to supplement local knowledge and enrich teaching by using local curriculum resources around students.The application of local curriculum resources is also conducive to alleviate the current situation of lack of curriculum resources in rural areas,and it is a natural choice to realize education revitalization and rural revitalization.However,through interviews and lectures,it is found that there are several problems in the application of local curriculum resources in rural junior high school English teaching.The first is the lack of the application of local curriculum resources.In the whole teaching process,the application frequency of local curriculum resources is low,even there is no application in the whole process.Secondly,the application of local curriculum resources is single,and teachers mainly rely on the creation of local context.In addition,the application scope of local curriculum resources is narrow,most teachers only use it for homework arrangement and exercise explanation.From the perspective of teachers,there are three main reasons for the problems of local curriculum resources.That is to say,teachers’ understanding,awareness and experience of local curriculum resources are not enough;Secondly,teachers do not dig deep into English textbooks and local curriculum resources;Teachers’ design of in class teaching activities and extra-curricular homework is insufficient.Based on this,this paper puts forward the application strategies of local curriculum resources in rural junior high school English teaching.First of all,through online consulting and offline research,teachers can understand the local curriculum resources;By strengthening the application and practice of local curriculum resources and observing excellent teachers’ classroom teaching,we can gain direct and indirect experience;Through the promotion of application awareness,strengthen the communication between teachers,improve the frequency of active application of local curriculum resources.Secondly,it interprets the theme and content of the textbook,and judges the possibility of the connection between the textbook and local curriculum resources;Analyze the local curriculum resources related to teaching materials and find the specific connection points between them;According to the connection point,we choose the local situation creation method,physical demonstration method,multimedia display method and other connection methods to connect teaching materials and local curriculum resources,in order to promote the effective connection between teaching materials and local curriculum resources.Finally,the local curriculum resources are integrated to plan in class teaching activities;Relying on the local life materials,we can skillfully design the extra-curricular extended homework,so as to realize the connection between the design of English classroom teaching activities and extra-curricular extended homework and students’ local life.Finally,combined with the proposed strategy,taking the third unit of the seventh grade volume II as an example,the teaching design of a class hour is carried out.In order to apply the teaching strategies in teaching and provide reference for English teachers.
