| As China continues to open wider to the outside world and continuously promote bilateral relations with other countries,China-India relations are getting closer.Both countries have close exchanges in economy,culture and other fields.Yoga,as the production of India’s time-honored wisdom,has been widely spread and loved in China.Yunnan Minzu University and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations have jointly established the first yoga college in the world outside India,India-China Yoga College of Yunnan Minzu University.This is the best testimony to the long-standing friendship between China and India.The source material for the mock simultaneous interpreting in this paper is the video recording of the “2022 International Yoga Day & China-India Cultural Exchange Event”,which includes the host’s introduction of the participants,the content of the conference,the narrator’s introduction to the India-China Yoga College,and the speeches of several speakers.The recording lasted for about one and a half hour,with 16 offline audience and 1 online audience,including undergraduates majoring in translation,masters of interpreting and a teacher who gives lectures on interpretation.According to the speaker’s speech in the video,this paper summarizes the characteristics of Chinese speeches,such as the use of four-character words,poetry,frequent use of simple sentences,etc.Under the guidance of Gile’s Effort Models,the author analyzes the errors in the mock simultaneous interpretation,analyzes the causes of the errors,such as proper nouns,intensive information,and unexpected interference,and then summarizes the countermeasures,such as adequate pre-interpreting preparation,memorizing the glossary and syntactic linearity,etc.Through the practice and summary,the author hopes to promote more people’s understanding of yoga and China-India relations,and provide some ideas for other interpreters in interpreting Chinese speeches. |
