A Report On The Simulated Interpreting Of The Interview At The Launching Ceremony Of 2021 International Year For The Elimination Of Child Labour Under The Guidance Of Interpretive Theory

The Launching Ceremony of 2021 International Year for the Elimination of Child Labour was held by the The General Assembly of the United Nations.It stressed that Member States should take effective measures to implement their commitments to eliminate forced labour,end modern slavery and human trafficking,and ensure the prohibition and elimination of the worst forms of child labour,including the recruitment and use of child soldiers,in order to end all forms of child labour by2025.The author chose the interview at “The Launching Ceremony of 2021 International Year for the Elimination of Child Labour” as the interpretation practice material and simulated the process of consecutive interpretation.This report is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is task description,which briefly describes the background,introduction and purpose of the task.The second chapter is task process,including details of pre-interpreting preparation,interpretation and its evaluation.The third chapter is interpretative theory.The author expounds the emergence and development of the interpretative theory,the three stages,the triangular model and the feasibility of guiding this practice.The fourth chapter is case analysis,in which the author analyzes the problems in practice,including missed interpretation,and mis-interpretation problems.Then,the author explains the specific application of interpreting techniques with examples,such as reduction,combination,information reorganization,free interpretation,addition,and word-order adjustment in the three stages under the guidance of interpretive theory.The last chapter is the summary including the problems encountered in the practice and the lessons learned.Through this simulation practice,the author hopes to skillfully use interpretation methods,improve interpretation quality and on-site performance,and provide experience for future interpretation practice.It is also hoped that more people will pay attention to the child labour problem and eliminate it with the efforts of the whole society.
