A Report On Simulated Consecutive Interpretation Of Soichiro Honda:King Of The Motorcycles

This report is based on the documentary Soichiro Honda: King of the Motorcycles produced by Barchetta’s production team.Under the guidance of the interpretive theory founded by Danica Seleskovitch and Marianne Lederer,it analyzes the problems encountered in the practice of English-Chinese communication and their solutions.This report is divided into five chapters.The first chapter Introduction mainly introduces the source,content,purpose and significance of this interpreting task.The second chapter is Task Process,including Pre-interpretation preparation,translation process,Post-interpretation summary and reflection,and gives the audience evaluation of simulated communication.The third chapter is the Theoretical Preparation,which expounds the basic connotation of the theory of interpretation and its guiding role in interpretation practice.The fourth chapter is Case Analysis,based on the principle of “deverbalization”,the core strategy in the Triangular Model of Interpretive Theory,five translation techniques are used to analyze the case,including Addition,Omission,Conversion,Voice conversion and Word order adjustment.The problems,difficulties and solutions encountered in the Interpreting process are reviewed.The fifth chapter is Conclusion,it summarizes the gains and shortcomings of this interpreting practice.Through this interpreting practice,the author has accumulated knowledge of related industries,improved the overall quality of translation through Post-interpretation revised,accumulated interpretation experience,and improved his own interpretation ability.The author hopes that this interpreting practice report can provide some reference for translation activities in related industries in the future.
