With the development of the times,the public’s attitude towards marriage has started to change,which contains the positive change of independence and upward mobility,but also breeds worries and anxiety about marriage.College life is the early stage of youthful love,and it is important for college students to develop a good attitude toward marriage and look at it objectively and positively in order to have a healthy and stable relationship.According to the research,many factors have an impact on college students’ marriage mindset,such as their own characteristics,family factors,social factors,etc.,among which family factors occupy an important position.Although the factors influencing college students’ marriage anxiety have been studied,the mechanism of the effect is not yet clear.In exploring the mechanism of family factors on college students’ marriage anxiety,we found that family factors may act through other mediating mechanisms.Therefore,this paper is an attempt to explore how family factors affect college students’ marriage anxiety and to find effective countermeasures to address their anxiety.Specifically,we will discuss the influence of parental conflict on children’s marital anxiety,try to study the role of self-esteem level in the relationship between parental conflict and marital anxiety,and explore the effectiveness of the self-esteem enhancement group counseling program designed on the basis of the relationship between the three to enhance college students’ self-esteem level and reduce marital anxiety.In total,this study is divided into two parts,which are divided into Study I and Study II.Study 1 used the Parental Conflict Perception Scale,the Self-Esteem Scale and the Marital Anxiety Scale to conduct a questionnaire survey on 350 college students,and analyzed the relevant data to understand the current situation of the degree of parental conflict,self-esteem level and marital anxiety level experienced by college students,and explored the relationship between the three and the mediating role of self-esteem level in the relationship between parental conflict and the prediction of marital anxiety.Study 2 designed a group counseling program to enhance self-esteem based on theories related to self-esteem levels.24 college students with low self-esteem levels were selected and randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group based on the results of Study 1.The 12 subjects in the experimental group were given six consecutive 90-minute sessions of self-esteem enhancement group counseling,while the12 subjects in the control group did not receive any intervention.The effect of the self-esteem enhancement group counseling intervention was investigated by comparing the pretest and post-test data of the two groups.The main findings of this study are as follows:(1)Parental conflict has a positive predictive effect on college students’ marital anxiety,college students’ parental conflict has a negative predictive effect on self-esteem level,and college students’ self-esteem level has a negative predictive effect on marital anxiety.(2)Self-esteem level has a mediating role between parental conflict and marital anxiety among college students.(3)Self-esteem enhancement group counseling can play an effective role in enhancing college students’ self-esteem level and reducing marital anxiety. |
