A Study On The Influencing Factors Of New Urbanites’ Willingness To Participate In Community Governance

With the acceleration of China’s urbanization process,the rural-urban transfer population is gradually increasing,and the population flow between cities is becoming more and more frequent.The population structure of many large and medium-sized cities has undergone a major change,and these new urbanites have become an important part of the urban population and one of the important subjects of urban governance.How to effectively enhance the willingness of new urbanites to participate in community governance is of great significance to the realization of "human-oriented" urbanization development.Based on the theory of planned behavior,the theory of social capital and theory of social integration,combined with the characteristics of new citizens,this study constructs the influencing factors model of new urbanites’ willingness to participate in community governance and puts forward hypotheses.Data were obtained by issuing questionnaires,and SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 22.0 were used to analyze the influence of various factors on participation intention.The results show that attitudes,subjective norms and perceived behavioral control all positively affect the new urbanites’ intention to participate in community governance,and behavioral attitude has the most significant effect on the intention.The degree of social integration also significantly affects the behavioral attitude and subjective norms of new urbanites’ participation in community governance.Social capital has significant influence on attitude and participation perceived behavioral control.Based on these findings,this paper puts forward the following suggestions on how to improve the willingness of new urbanites to participate in community governance: firstly,the governing role of new urbanites should be attached great importance,and their responsibility and cognition of community governance should be enhanced.Secondly,the community integration degree of new urbanites should be actively promoted and a good environment for community governance and participation should be created.Thirdly,the cultivation of social capital in new urbanites’ communities should be strengthened to further enhance their willingness to participate and governance efficiency.
