Since the rise and fall of the self-serving revolution in the late 1960 s,paradigm research has lost its former dominance,and the theoretical horizon has shifted from grand to medium.In addition,the growing complexity and interdependence in political reality have led to the decline of research levels and the reduction of research scales due to the concretization of research contents and the complexity of research objects,Topic research has become the most important form and carrier of scientific exploration and knowledge expansion of comparative politics.Correspondingly,the research concern of comparative politics has gradually shifted from stability and similarity to variability and diversity,which has led to the fragmentation of the research topics of comparative politics and objectively reflected the dilemma of the rupture of knowledge accumulation and the blurring of discipline boundaries in the development of comparative politics.In this case,what progress,how to distribute and where to go are the current research topics of comparative politics,which has a significant theoretical urgency for understanding and clarifying the knowledge accumulation and discipline boundaries of comparative politics.It is urgent to explore and clarify them through the review and analysis of the research on comparative politics in recent years.In 2007,the publication of the Oxford Handbook of Comparative Politics made a systematic review and summary of the discovery and innovation of comparative politics in the past 30 years,in which six core topics of comparative politics,including the country,the formation of the country and political consent,the system of government and its changes,political upheaval and political conflict,mass political mobilization,dealing with political demands,and governance in a comparative perspective,were emphatically analyzed,It has formed an authoritative narration and evaluation for the development of the substantive research of this discipline.What new developments have taken place in the substantive content of comparative politics research since 2007?What are the dominant characteristics or potential laws of this development? What is the evolution trend in the future? In this regard,based on the bibliometrics theory and the knowledge mapping tool of CiteSpace software,this paper selects 1757 research articles published in the three top journals of comparative politics,Comparative Politics,Comparative Politics Studies,and World Politics,from 2007 to 2022 as research samples,and combines quantitative and qualitative methods to systematically sort out and investigate the current distribution of research topics in comparative politics The characteristics of change and the future evolution trend are to explore the specific progress of the substantive research of comparative politics,understand the basic laws of knowledge production of comparative politics,and evaluate the overall prospects of the development of comparative politics.The research ideas of the article are roughly as follows: Chapter 1 is the introduction,which describes the macro background,research significance,the overall thinking and specific methods of this paper;The second chapter is the literature review of comparative political issues,which mainly examines the development of consensus research on comparative political issues at home and abroad;The third chapter defines the research topics of comparative politics.On the basis of introducing the development process and discipline division of comparative politics,it refines the basic concepts and essential characteristics of comparative politics,and combs the substantive issues in comparative politics research from 1968 to 2007;The fourth chapter is the visual analysis of comparative political issues research.With the help of the visual analysis tool CiteSpace software,it analyzes the overall characteristics of comparative political issues research,the specific distribution of comparative political issues and their change trends in turn;The fifth chapter is the literature analysis of the frontiers of comparative politics.Through the literature analysis,it expounds the main classification and specific content of the frontiers of comparative politics,and summarizes the changing characteristics of the research topics of comparative politics;The final conclusion summarizes and evaluates the research conclusions of the full text,and looks forward to the future of the research topics of comparative politics.
