Along with the increasing social security issues,there are higher expectations for the work performance and quality of prison guards.The most evident problem currently faced by prison guards is occupational burnout,which is not only related to their physical and mental health and family harmony but also linked to the stability of social security.In their daily work,prison guards fulfill various roles such as law enforcers and educators.They work in remote and isolated environments,have limited contact with the outside world,and often experience insufficient rest time.They have limited opportunities to engage in beneficial recreational activities.The high-intensity work takes a toll on their physical and mental well-being,causing significant stress and fatigue.Research indicates that exhausted prison guards not only harm their own health but also hinder the effectiveness of their educational and corrective work.It can negatively impact the stability of correctional facilities and fail to fully utilize the functions of prisons,consequently hindering the enhancement of social security management.This study employs literature review and questionnaire survey methods to analyze the concept of occupational burnout,specifically focusing on the burnout experienced by prison guards.After analyzing the current state of prison guards’ occupational burnout,this research investigates the characteristics of their burnout through the design of a questionnaire.Furthermore,the study explores the causes of occupational burnout among prison guards.It analyzes the factors influencing occupational burnout among prison guards from individual,organizational,and societal perspectives.Finally,based on the research on the current state and causes of occupational burnout among prison guards,this study proposes measures and recommendations to alleviate burnout.The proposed measures and recommendations are categorized into individual,organizational,and societal levels,aiming to reduce the impact of burnout,enabling prison guards to better fulfill their duties and make greater contributions to maintaining social stability.The purpose of this study is to investigate and analyze the problem of occupational burnout among prison guards and its underlying causes.It also offers preventive and mitigating measures and suggestions to alleviate burnout.By doing so,it aims to minimize the effects of occupational burnout on prison guards,allowing them to perform their duties more effectively and contribute to maintaining social stability.
