Digital diplomacy has become an essential tool in shaping and conducting international relations.Understanding how countries are using digital technologies and platforms to influence diplomatic communication,negotiations and public engagement allows diplomats and policy makers to navigate the evolving global landscape effectively is important.The purpose of this dissertation was to compare the digital diplomacy strategies employed by the US and China in Namibia.The analysis focused on how both countries maintained their digital presence in Namibia through Facebook,Twitter,and website accounts,examining the themes,discourses,and values evident in their online content.Thematic content analysis was employed to reveal the strategies to reveal the strategies used by each country,with a focus on themes such as diplomatic relations,cultural events,economic and trade updates,educational opportunities,tourism,policies and initiatives,and people to people exchanges.The study concludes that US and Chinese embassies in Namibia uses different digital strategies based on their foreign policies.While the US digital diplomacy focuses on prompting democracy and strengthening economic ties,China focuses more on enhancing diplomatic relations and economic partnership.The findings show that the two superpowers are competing to outdo each other.
