The Research On The Influence Of Turin 2006 Winter Olympics To Local Tourism

China will hold the 24 th Winter Olympic Games in 2022.Winter Olympic Games is an event which is going to carry forward the Olympic spirit,promote the integration of western and eastern civilization and show a good image of China.Winter Olympic Games will promote the popularization of winter sports,from which more people could participate in sports and have physical fitness,and also will improve and enhance the ecological environment and urban governance level.Previous Olympic Games definitely have some successful experience.Based on the analysis of the main factors influencing the development of the tourism industry.This paper makes a detailed analysis on the impact of the Turin 2006 on the tourism of the host city,utilizing the methods of literature materials,expert interview and so on.First of all,before bidding the Olympic Games,the economic pillar of Turin is mainly the automotive industry when the time that urban tourism image was quite poor.In terms of traffic,Turin has an international airport and a number of railways and highways,however without subway.In the sports venues,the city has some sports venues,and the mountains have some mature venues of winter sports.In the tourist accommodation,a majority of hotels in the city were for business people,and there is lack of suitable hotels for leisure travelers.In the tourism resources,Turin and Piedmont region has a large number of natural tourism resources and cultural tourism resources,which did not have a good development of utilization,leading to the effect of less attractiveness and less tourists.Secondly,in order to promote the transformation of industrial structure and the development of tourism in Turin,the local government regarded Olympic Games as an opportunity and set up the Turin International Association and Turin Tourism Bureau to develop a comprehensive tourism strategic development plan,which perfected the infrastructures related to tourism and Olympic Games.According to the development plan,the No.1subway and 25 high ways have been founded,many roads(in all 150km)have been upgraded and a few large parking lots have been constructed.What’s more,the sports venues have been further improved,and leisure travel hotels have been accumulated.Combined with the Winter Olympics’ they also developed more tourism products,which met the needs of different levels of tourism consumers.Thirdly,through the holding of the Winter Olympics,Turin has successfully transformed from an industrial city into a compound cultural and tourism city.The level of infrastructure in urban and mountainous areas has improved significantly and tourism and service industry has been greatly developed,which promoted the local economic and social development.The number of hotels in Turin and Piedmont has continued to grow from the year of 1999 to now,and the functions and levels of hotels are diversified.As a result,the tourist visits,tourist number and income of tourism all had an appreciable increase.The image of the city has also been eventually changed.The 2022 Winter Olympic Games will be held in Beijing and Zhangjiakou.Beijing has a wealth of tourism resources and well conditions and experiences of mega-events.For this reason,Turin Winter Olympic Games has greater significance on Zhangjiakou.Therefore,the recommendations of this paper are: first,learning from the experience of the Turin Winter Olympics,and regarding the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games as an opportunity to promote economic and social development in Zhangjiakou,especially the development of tourism.Second,utilizing the possibility of Olympic Games to promote the winter sports and tourism in Beijing and Zhangjiakou.
