With the increasingly fierce social competition, the mental health problems of the postgraduate group have gradually become prominent.Improving the mental health of postgraduates urgently needs to be taken seriously by educators.Facing the postgraduate students in the new era, first of all,it is necessary to update the evaluation methods to accurately assess the mental health status of the group. The Dual-Factor Model of Mental Health emphasizes a complete state of mental health. It neither denies the importance of eliminating symptoms of mental illness, but also emphasizes the indispensability of improving individual well-being.The positive and negative psychology are independent but closely related. To evaluate the mental health of the people in a more detailed manner, the population is divided into four different mental health states.Secondly, the two-dimensional index divides the postgraduate student population into four different mental states,so that it can study the different characteristics of the four populations and the methods of prevention, intervention and development, and improve the mental health of postgraduates from both positive and negative psychological considerations.Acorrding to perspective of positive psychology, this theory focuses on the positive potential of individuals and believes that human beings have the power of self-realization and can rely on the power of themselves and others to help self-regulate.Studies have confirmed the relationship between self-compassion and mental health and the relationship between mental-help behavior and mental health, but there are few studies that combine the three to analyze, especially based on the theoretical perspective of the DFM.In view of this, this research starts with the applicability of the two-factor model of mental health, and explores the current relationship among postgraduate students’self-compassion,mental help-seeking behavior, and mental health as well as the mechanism of action.Work provides inspiration. This research uses the questionnaire survey method to issue questionnaires to the postgraduates from X university, and a total of 605 valid data are collected. The main findings are as follows:1.DFM is applicable to the postgraduates, and its fitting index is good. All the fitting indexes of DFM are better than single factor model.2.According to the four-point method of the Dual-Factor Model of Mental Health, postgraduates are divided into four groups. The distribution characteristics are:the number of people with complete mental health is the largest,383 people, accounting for 63.3%,followed by Vulnerable,152 People, accounting for 25.1%,the third is complete mental illness,55 people, accounting for 9.1%,and symptomatic but content people are the least,at 15 people, accounting for 2.5%.3.The overall self-compassion level, mental help-seeking behavior, and mental health of the postgraduates are good, and the differences in gender, birthplace, grade, and major are different and to different degrees.4.There are significant differences in the levels of self-compassion and psychological help-seeking behaviors and various dimensions of the four groups of people.5.Flouring,internalization problems,self-compassion,and non-professional mental help-seeking behaviors are all significantly correlated.Non-professional mental help-seeking behavior plays a part of mediating role between self-compassion and positive psychology. On the one hand,self-compassion can directly affect positive mental health;on the other hand,self-compassion can affect positive mental health by influencing non-professional mental help-seeking behavior.
