The focus of educational development and reform is to improve the quality of undergraduate talents in research universities.It requires the undergraduate education to fully stimulate students’ autonomy.Thus,it becomes a method for research universities to improve the quality of undergraduate talent training.Ability is the direct embodiment of educational achievements.The competency of innovation and entrepreneurship is not a single competency,it is a complex competencies.Therefore,only by clarifying the structural model of the competency of innovation and entrepreneurship for undergraduates in research universities can we better promote the reform of undergraduate education,and integrate innovation and entrepreneurship education into the whole process of talent training.Innovation and entrepreneurship education is often misread as entrepreneurial skills training,so it is easy to cause practical deviation.Therefore,this study reinterprets the concept of the innovation and entrepreneurship education,which is a kind of education concept oriented to the future social development and focusing on the individual growth of students.By analyzing the connotation of undergraduate talent training objectives of the world-class research universities,it is found that they take "leading talents of world development" as the training standard,and believe that"innovation" and "action" are the basic characteristics of undergraduate talents.This is consistent with the connotation of innovation and entrepreneurship,which further demonstrates that the cultivation of innovation and entrepreneurship is consistent with the world-class undergraduate education in paying attention to students’ subjectivity and ability cultivation,which lays a solid theoretical foundation for this study.On this basis,the integrated theoretical framework composed of "self-concept theory and social cognitive theory and theory of planned behavior" demonstrates the starting point logic,process factors and results of the research,which becomes the theoretical guidance of this study.This study uses the mixed research to construct the structural model of the competency of innovation and entrepreneurship for undergraduates in research universities.In the phase of qualitative analysis,qualitative analysis data are collected by behavior event interview.According to grounded theory,from the three-level coding of undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship experience of the research university,the local competency of our country is constructed.it’s composed of seven competencies of innovation and entrepreneurship:goal determination,action planning,decisive choice,interpersonal communication,opportunity grasping,risk prevention and rising in adversity.The research demonstrates that the structural model basically reflects the action logic of "self-discovery,self-practice,self-breakthrough,self-development,self-achievement,self-discovery" of research university undergraduates,it fully reflects the internal regulation of innovation and entrepreneurship behavior of research university undergraduates,which makes the structural model have stereoscopicity.Based on the qualitative analysis data,the scale is compiled,and exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis are used to verify the structural model of the competency of innovation and entrepreneurship for undergraduates in research universities.This study constructs construct the structural model of the competency of innovation and entrepreneurship for undergraduates in research universities,which is composed of the competency of goal determination,action planning,decisive choice,interpersonal communication,opportunity grasping,risk prevention and rising in adversity.According to the study,the competency of innovation and entrepreneurship is an important indicator of the quality of undergraduate education in research university,the structural model of the competency of innovation and entrepreneurship provides a reference for the development of innovation and entrepreneurship education in research university.To this end,the research university should overcome the utilitarian concept of innovation and entrepreneurship education,attach importance to the cultivation of creative personality of undergraduates,and fundamentally grasp the basis of the cultivation of innovative entrepreneurship;we should take the development of innovation and entrepreneurship as an important part of evaluating the quality of undergraduate education in research university to ensure the effective development of innovation and entrepreneurship education.
