| The 2017 version of the biology curriculum standards for general high schools revised in 2020 is the latest curriculum standards,and the revised curriculum standards more clearly define the orientation of general high school education.Compulsory education is a basic education aimed at improving the overall quality of the Chinese people and targeting the general public,whose key task is to promote the comprehensive and individualized development of primary and secondary school students and lay the foundation for students’ lifelong career planning.The theory of multiple intelligences(MI)was put forward by the modern American psychologist,H.Gardner,in his monograph “Frames of Mind” published in 1983.Human intelligence is the synthesis of a set of abilities,rather than a mere ability.None of this set of abilities has an independent intelligence,but always exists at the same time,and they interact,complement,and work together.Therefore,the basic composition of multiple intelligences is seven kinds of intelligences that are interconnected in a certain cognitive area or knowledge field,including linguistic intelligence,logic-mathematical intelligence,visual-spatial intelligence,bodily-kinesthetic intelligence,musical intelligence,interpersonal intelligence and introspective intelligence.In 1998,Gardner added natural exploration intelligence and existence intelligence to the theory of multiple intelligences according to the “Intelligence Selection Basis System”.The theory focuses on the diversification and individualization of individual development,and this core idea is consistent with the current new curriculum standards for general senior high schools.In order to enable students to give full play to their strengths and motivation,teachers should design diversified and individualised education and teaching models based on the theory of multiple intelligences to find the most suitable curriculum resources for students and try to adapt to the individual development of each student.The biological experiment course is a key link to promote students to complete the leap from perceptual cognition to rational cognition,from concrete thinking to abstract thinking.Biological experiment course resources refer to the various resources related to experiments that can be effectively used and the combination of man-made,material and various natural resources,etc.that may be required in the process of comprehensively learning the relevant knowledge content of biological experiments and cultivating the practical ability of biological experiments.Effective use of biological experiment course resources is the key factor to achieve the course objectives.This paper studies the application of multiple intelligences theory system to high school biology experiment teaching based on the background of the revised version of the new curriculum standard and the multiple intelligences theory.Through a questionnaire survey carried out among biology teachers in a high school in Hailar City,Inner Mongolia,and two high schools in Tongliao City,Inner Mongolia,as well as all grade students of a high school in Tongliao City,we learned about the utilization of museums,science and technology museums,multimedia and other course resources in biological experiment courses.Taking the two classes of grade one of the Mongolian high school in Tongliao,Inner Mongolia as an example,the investigation has been conducted to understand the distribution of students’ intelligence.The proportion of each item in the valid questionnaire and the distribution of students’ intelligence were statistically analyzed by Excel software.It tries to study the teaching method based on the theory of multiple intelligences in a class of first grade of the Mongolian high school in Tongliao,Inner Mongolia.Statistical analysis was carried out on the changes of students’ biology course scores before and after the experiment through SPSS software.The findings of this study are as follows:(1)Students have a strong desire to use multiple resources in biology experiment courses,but the actual utilization rate of course resources is very low.Students have limited access to knowledge about biological experiments.(2)Teachers believe that insufficient resources and tight teaching schedule lead to inadequate arrangement of experimental class hours and low efficiency.(3)Most teachers agree that the introduction of diversified curriculum resources in biological experimental teaching is not only conducive to improving the efficiency of experimental teaching,but also plays an important role in the overall development of students and the growth of various intelligences.In view of the above problems,a diversified teaching mode such as model resources,multimedia resources,and scientific history resources was designed and applied to biological experimental teaching.It is found that the average score of the biological courses obtained by the students in the experimental class is significantly higher compared with the control class,which had the same grades as the original,the students in the experimental class have also grown in various intelligence levels,by conducting data statistics and analysis on the biological course performance of the students in the experimental class and the growth of various intelligences based on the theory of multiple intelligences.The experimental class has made significant progress in both test scores and intellectual growth,which shows that the application of the theory of multiple intelligences has a facilitation effect and is positive and feasible to the biological experimental teaching. |
