Labor education carries the historical responsibility of cultivating the new man of the age,is an important embodiment of the spirit of the National Education Conference,is an inevitable requirement for the combination of classroom teaching and practical activities,and is an educational activity that must be carried out in schools of all levels under new historical conditions,playing a vital role in shaping students’ correct labor values,improving their comprehensive quality,and promoting their healthy physical and mental growth.At present,labor education in China is being entertained,superficial and formalized,and the nurturing value of labor education is being belittled and its implementation is being hindered.Based on this,we systematically review the evolution of labor education policies since the founding of New China,summarize the basic experiences of labor education policies over the past 70 years since the founding of the country,and draw targeted insights to optimize and improve China’s labor education policies and promote the effective implementation of labor education.Based on the law of development of labor education policy itself and several important historical periods of our Party development,the purpose,contents and implementation channels of labor education since the founding of New China are divided into different historical stages.Based on the different perspectives of value selection of labor education policies in different historical periods,the purposes of labor education in China since the founding of the People’s Republic of China have gone from eliminating prejudice against manual labor and serving the needs of the development of new China;to cultivating conscious and educated laborers,solving the problem of disconnection between theory and practice and serving the needs of the proletariat;to improving the quality of laborers,preventing the phenomenon of crime and serving the needs of socialist modernization construction;to cultivating innovative and practical abilities and enhancing the ability to work.The five stages of labor education are to cultivate innovative and practical ability and enhance social responsibility,and finally to establish correct labor values and promote all-round development.In order to realize the purpose of labor education in different historical periods,we carry out highly contemporary,special and targeted labor education contents in different historical stages,and adopt diverse and feasible ways to implement labor education based on both classroom and extracurricular areas,so that our labor education policy can be promoted in practice.Summarizing History and Looking Forward.Based on the analysis of the evolution of the purpose,content and implementation of labor education since the founding of New China,we summarize the basic experience of labor education policies over the past 70 years and draw contemporary inspiration.The basic experiences of labor education policy in China over the past 70 years have been summarized in four aspects: direction,era,nurturing and localization,such as adhering to the correct leadership of the Party,adjusting labor education policy according to the times and situations,consistently applying the nurturing value of labor education throughout,and promoting the implementation of labor education policy according to local conditions,which leads to the conclusion that the relationship between the five educational aspects must be correctly handled,constructing a scientific labor education system,and innovating a new era of labor education.In this way,we can draw four contemporary inspirations: we must correctly deal with the relationship between the five education systems,build a scientific labor curriculum system,innovate labor education methods in the modern era,and improve the policy guarantee of labor education.
