The geographic history refers to the development history of the geography discipline,which contains rich educational factors.Applying the teaching of the geographic history helps students to understand the formation of geographic knowledge,deepen their understanding of geographic knowledge,improve their scientific and cultural literacy,and implement the fundamental task of establishing moral education.However,the current situation of integrating the geographic history into geography teaching in senior high school is not optimistic.Therefore,based on reading a lot of literature,the questionnaire surveys were conducted on teachers and students through educational practice to understand the current application and problems of the geographic history in senior high school geography teaching.Countermeasures and suggestions were put forward,teaching case designed and empirical research were carried out based on the current situation and existing problems,The main results are as follows:1.The status quo of the geographic history applied to geography teaching in senior high schoolBy analyzing the teachers’ and students’ questionnaires,it was found that the frequency of using the geographic history teaching was relatively low,and the method of application was relatively simple.It was difficult to give full play to the educational value of the geographic history,and teachers didn’t pay attention to the use of the geographic history teaching.2.Problems existing in the application of the geographic history to senior high school geography teaching(1)Problems at teachers’ level: firstly,teachers didn’t have a deep understanding of the knowledge of the geographic history,and their own knowledge of the geographic history was insufficient;secondly,teachers’ initiative in learning the knowledge of geography history was not high,and their understanding of the educational value of the geographic history was not deep enough.In addition,there were few classes in the subject of geography.Under the background of exam-oriented education,teachers ignored the teaching of the geographic history,and teachers didn’t pay attention to the geographic history teaching.Thirdly,teachers’ energy was limited,and it took a lot of energy to carefully design a class that combined the geographic history and teaching knowledge.It was one of the main factors restricting teachers’ use of geographic history teaching.(2)Problems at students’ level: firstly,students were interested in the geographic history,but the initiative in learning the knowledge of the geographic history was poor,and they paid little attention to the geographic history;secondly,students’ awareness of inquiry was insufficient and they didn’t pay attention to the geographic history.3.Countermeasures and suggestions on the application of the geographic history to senior high school geography teachingIn view of the existing problems,suggestions were put forward from four aspects::enriching teachers’ knowledge reserve of geographic history,strengthening teachers’ understanding of the educational value of geographic history,improving teachers’ ability to apply the geographic history,and incorporating the geographic history into geography study.In order to help teachers make better use of the geographic history teaching,the teaching design of "the impact of vegetation on the environment(fragment)" and "analysis of the causes of soil formation" was carried out,in order to provide help for teachers to better use the geographic history teaching on this basis.4.An empirical study of the geographic history applied to senior high school geography teachingIt was found that the application of the geographic history teaching had a certain effect on improving the students’ geography achievement through the comparative study between the experimental class and the control class.
