With the progress of the times and the development of social economy,innovative and practical talents are more and more needed by today’s society,and the cultivation of geographical practical ability is gradually paid attention to.In the newly revised "Geography Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools(2017 Edition)" of the Ministry of Education,the practical ability of geography is put forward as one of the four core qualities.Using local resources to cultivate senior high school students’ geographical practice ability can better implement the goal of curriculum reform and cultivate socialist successors in the new era.This paper takes the case design of cultivating high school students’ geographical practice ability in Qingdao based on local resources as the research theme,and explores how to design practical cases with strong operability and effective improvement of students’ geographical practice ability by combining with local resources in Qingdao.The current research status and problems are obtained through student questionnaire survey and teacher interview,which provides research ideas for subsequent case design.In addition,on the basis of reading a lot of literature and field investigation,the author analyzes the general situation of local resources in Qingdao,summarizes a total of 17 local resources suitable for carrying out geographical practice activities,puts forward the strategies and principles of case design of geographical practice activities,pre designs the local geographical practice activities in Qingdao,and finally designs three complete geographical practice teaching activities,They are "investigation activities of Jiangshan Wetland Park","latitude measurement of Qingdao by using the shadow of flagpole" and "investigation activities of passenger flow at stations of Qingdao Metro Line 11".The results show that case design based on local resources can better cultivate students’ practical ability,ability to find and solve problems,cooperative inquiry and other abilities,thus improving students’ geographical practice ability.At present,the cultivation of geography practice ability of senior high school students in Qingdao is not optimistic,but according to the collected data,students and teachers have a positive attitude towards the development of geography practice activities,and students prefer field visits.Qingdao’s case of designing practical activities based on local resources should follow the principles of curriculum standards and textbooks,the cultivation of geographical practical ability,the adjustment to local conditions,pertinence and diversification of evaluation.The design strategies should follow three innovative strategies: student-centered,teacher-oriented,cooperative division of labor and mutual cooperation,asking questions and divergent thinking.The idea of case design of local practice activities in Qingdao should follow four major parts: the theme and goal of practice activities,the content of practice activities,the implementation process of practice activities and the evaluation of practice activities.The implementation of each activity must be based on the requirements of curriculum standards and the connection of teaching materials,and the steps of case design should be appropriately adjusted according to the students’ learning situation and the actual situation of the activity places.The three practical teaching cases designed in this paper also strictly follow this idea.
