Study On The Impact Of Population Structure On Economic Growth In Northeast China

In recent years,the northeast region’s economic growth gradually slowed,as a basic factor of economic development,population,the formation of the structure is a complex social process,affected by many factors,has the characteristics of historic,complexity,comprehensive,and have a major impact on economic growth and the way of influence mainly include two aspects of population structure and population quality structure.At present,the population quantity structure in Northeast China is mainly a structural problem caused by the aging of population and the decrease of newborn population,while the population quality structure is a quality dividend utilization problem caused by the gradual improvement of human capital and the high or low efficiency of human capital allocation.The population structure determines the sustainable development capacity of a country or region.It is of great practical significance to promote the economic development and revitalization of northeast China from the perspective of population structure.Combined with the three northeastern provinces in 2000-2019 a total of 20 years of data,first of all,population structure and population quality structure in northeast China for qualitative analysis,understand the current population structure in northeast China’s specific conditions and advantages disadvantages,secondly analyze the structure of the population quantity and quality of the impact effect on economic growth and the transmission mechanism,Finally,combined with the derivation of Solow model with population factor and relevant literature review,the mediation effect model was selected as the econometric model for quantitative analysis,and GDP was constructed as the explained variable.Elderly population dependency ratio,juvenile population dependency ratio,average length of education of employed persons,local financial expenditure education expenditure,local financial expenditure medical and health expenditure were explanatory variables.Residents’ consumption level,the balance of urban and rural savings deposits at the end of the year,local financial expenditure in general budget,total import and export,rationalization of industrial structure,stock of human capital,and the proportion of employed persons with college education are the mediating variables.The results show that the quantity structure and quality structure of population in northeast China have a significant positive or negative impact on economic growth through explanatory variables and their transmission to intermediary variables.Combined with qualitative analysis and the empirical analysis results,and economic growth of rejuvenating northeast China implement,need to actively adjust the structure of population,related policies,including fully open bearing,formulated to encourage and support birth;Full implementation of education reform,increase human capital investment;Give play to the positive role of enterprises and institutions in encouraging childbearing;Leveraging digital technology and innovation;The development and utilization of the elderly human resources and human capital in the vitality period,promote the development of population structure,and then promote economic growth.
