In 2015,the CPC Central Committee and the State Council made a major strategic decision to build world-class universities and first-class disciplines.The construction of world-class disciplines has become a top priority.With the improvement of its attention,how to carry out discipline construction and promote teachers’ development has become a common concern in the education sector.Teachers play the role of the main force and backbone in the process of discipline construction.Discipline environment has an important impact on teacher development,and teacher development and discipline construction are complementary.However,the correlation between discipline construction and teacher development has not been deeply studied,so it is of great significance to explore how to promote teacher development in the process of discipline construction from an empirical perspective.Based on the literature review of leadership and teacher development,this study constructs a structural model of university discipline leadership from the perspective of teacher perception,and explores its influence mechanism on teacher development.On the basis of combing the relevant theories of discipline,leadership,teacher development and work engagement,this study first clarifies the connotation of each concept,determines the constituent elements of teacher development,divides teacher development into two dimensions: teaching development and scientific research development,and constructs a structural model of university discipline leadership combined with the characteristics of the discipline and the content of organizational leadership.The discipline leadership can be divided into three aspects: individual leadership,team leadership and organizational leadership.Secondly,drawing on the comprehensive model of work engagement,this paper constructs a conceptual model of the relationship between university discipline leadership,work engagement and teacher development,explores the relationship among university discipline leadership,work engagement and teacher development,and puts forward relevant research hypotheses.Finally,on the basis of the above work,the university discipline leadership and teacher development questionnaire is compiled.On the basis of pre-research large-scale questionnaire and data recovery.SPSS26.0 and AMOS24.0 statistical software are used for empirical research.Analysis of the Influence Path of Different Dimensions of Discipline Leadership on Teachers’ Development and the Mediating Role of Work Engagement.According to the results of empirical analysis,the research conclusions are drawn,and the countermeasures and suggestions to promote teachers’ development are put forward based on the perspective of discipline leadership.Through theoretical analysis and empirical test,the conclusions of this study are as follows.First,university discipline leadership has a positive impact on teacher development.Among them,team leadership is the primary factor affecting teaching development,and organizational leadership is the primary factor affecting scientific research development.However,the degree of scientific research development has nothing to do with the level of team leadership,and teaching development has nothing to do with organizational leadership.Second,work engagement plays an intermediary role in the relationship between university discipline leadership and teacher development.Third,team leadership and organizational leadership play a chain mediating role in the relationship between individual leadership and teacher development,which lays the foundation for further exploring the influence mechanism of university discipline leadership on teacher development.
