Secondary vocational schools,as the cradle of training technical talents,need to face the problem of smooth employment of graduates.Today,with the popularization of higher education,secondary vocational students are facing greater competition and employment pressure as well as pain points such as learning what they do not want,unemployment upon graduation,and frequent career changes.It is worth paying great attention to how secondary vocational schools can improve students’ comprehensive quality and professional skills and guide them to do career planning to ensure their smooth employment and better achieve a harmonious life.Taking a secondary vocational technical school in Shantou City as an example,this study selects three departments(teaching department,student section,and admission and employment office),which are mainly involved in career planning education and management,as the entry point of the study;based on section management theory,questionnaires and interviews are conducted with the leaders,school teachers and students of these three departments.The problems in the management of career planning education in this vocational school were analyzed from four dimensions: attitude perception,division labor of management,cooperative management,and evaluation and motivation,using descriptive statistics,independent sample t-test,and one-way analysis of variance.The findings show that the management of career planning education in this school has certain effectiveness: the three departments have a positive attitude toward education management;the teaching department has shown initial results in management;the completion rate of cooperative management is high.However,the following problems exist: the three departments do not have a comprehensive understanding of career planning education management;there are blind spots in the division of responsibilities;there is still a dilemma of "single-member" education in the cooperation mechanism;the evaluation and incentive mechanism fails to effectively stimulate the enthusiasm of all parties.In order to help secondary school students do a good job in career planning and improve the quality of talent cultivation in secondary schools,the following optimization strategies are proposed: deepen the concept and improve the awareness;clarify the responsibilities and refine the division of labor;build a platform and improve the departmental cooperation;improve the evaluation and incentive mechanism.
