A Case Study Of Life Retrospective Therapy To Enhance The Sense Of Meaning Of Life In Rural Empty Nesters

In the aging society,the empty nest elderly in rural areas are some mood is low,low life satisfaction,and even life difficult problem,the empty nest elderly depression and suicide phenomenon such as frequency have occurred in recent years,pay close attention to the quality of life of the elderly and promote the sense of life into the public’s line of sight,more and more attention by all of us.Taking an empty-nester in J Community of B City as the service object,the author used the scale of life meaning designed by foreign scholar Steger et al as the research tool to conduct field investigation and interview with the subject,analyze the collected basic data,and identify the status quo and existing problems of the subject’s life meaning.The purpose is to improve the sense of life meaning of empty nesters in rural areas through the intervention of life review therapy.According to the life review therapy,from childhood,youth,middle age and old age,we help the subject to recall the happy time,responsibility,and happy life in his life,and find his own sense of value and meaning of life.After the end of the life review,the author conducted a life meaning scale survey on the subject again,and evaluated the effect through the method of pre-and post-test comparison.Combined with the objective scale and subjective evaluation results,the subjects’ sense of meaning of life was significantly improved compared with the previous level.The study shows that life review therapy can effectively improve the sense of life meaning of rural empty nesters,and the case intervention effect is good.
